I don't think the US has any monoploy in any of the fields you mentioned except for integrated circuits. Maybe they are in you fantasy. They are most successful is pushing their Allie/Vassels around. I do agree with you on one part, they are best at coercion through war and destruction. They've done so much of it.

I don't think Biden told them to pump the brakes, rather they're reading the room. You see Xi say to Biden "you're my old friend but I must warn you, people who play with fire get burnt" and the US couldn't say anything in response so they're all thinking "damn I better keep a low profile least I become the next Lithuania". Once one of them does it it's like when you're lined up in a line and someone is asking for volunteers, and you see some people start to take a step backwards.
