As a Kenyan who's lived in the west, travelled extensively in China, it is in China's best interest to counter the west's propaganda blitz. You don't just say that people should not be stupid to believe American propaganda.

China desires good relations and should not be as hard headed as your comment implies. She needs African resources and should open her vast market to African produce while providing scholarships to African students. She should never stop trying to win hearts and minds.

China is already winning hearts and minds.

(a former minister of Liberia),

"If China has built more infrastructure in Africa in two decades than the West has in centuries, China is also our friend."

Because the West is losing in Africa, they are desperately lying; they would not do this if they were in a strong position. China must continue to tell the truth.

Financial Times reported it as well. The tweet though didnt say one thing.

"The missile missed its target by about two-dozen miles"
Good missile if the first test launch had such accuracy. It is a nuke so it doesn't need 1m precision. 500m-1km should be enough

Since the report said the launch was conducted in August, this should be a separate test from the

Seems I had old data.

I went to

and selected DF-5 with a 3 Mt yield and this is what it says
Fireball radius (vaporise everything): 1.95 km
Heavy blast damage radius: 3.14 km

So as we can see, depending on the yield of the nuclear warhead, the margin of error in the accuracy of the hypersonic glider can be more forgiving than requiring precision of 1, 10, 100 metres.

I believe that you as a person who has moved to Canada and therefor have your stake in the west more than in Kenya has nothing to do with Kenyan's future, therefor pretty much speaking along the line of western interest. I don't see you as an Kenyan, but just another Canadian brainwashed by the western media.
That's a very dangerous accusation you are making. There are members here who are of Chinese descent who have jobs and family in the West. For example, Gatekeeper (rip his account) is living in the UK with a good job and family, therefore he has a huge stake in the West. Yet he isn't acting like Boris' lapdog. As for everything else, I would have to agree. Kenyans are humans just like us, not endangered animals. They need to stand up for themselves and stop expecting people to fight on their behalf and give them everything on a silver platter. Unlike the West, the Chinese don't care about who is in power or what kind of government a country is ruled by as long as both sides can agree and adhere to their signed contracts. Corruption is caused by a government's incompetence, not by foreigners.

Yes. I want Xi Jinping to come down hard on Chinese companies that offer bribes to get tenders.
I know it takes two to tango but Chinese companies can refuse to give bribes.

And how exactly is that going to work? Is Kenya going to allow Chinese prosecutors to gather this evidence of corruption in Kenya? Maybe ask for the financial accounts of Kenyan government officials?

How exactly do you imagine this work?

It has nothing to do with where you live, and everything to do with the kind of rhetoric you are spouting here.

Yeah I agree, one can't blame "brainwashed by Western media" for every negative china news. There are certainly things china can do better.

My concern is if Xi tells chinese companies to by give kick backs, then other western companies will give kick backs and it's under the radar with the preception that kickbacks do not occur. In the end I feel the main issue is not just stopping corruption but also improving messaging and media in Africa.
