Funnily enought despite discrimating against the new Shanghainese most of these people aka the Old Shanghainese (Who basically like to act they run the place) don't even actually originate from Shanghai and the "Language/Dialect" basically reflects this. It's basically Suzhounese mixed with Ningbonese with some Cantonese (Cantonese people migrated to Shanghai).

My Shanghainese side of the family are exempt from this because we are one of the very few people who can actualy say they're Shanghai natives.

Shanghai was a literal backwater of China in all of its thousand year history. Suzhou and Hangzhou were the big city back in history.

Shanghai only became prominent during the century of humiliation when it was given as a foreign concession.

So being shanghai native is not a badge of honor or sign of elitism in my view. Shanghai natives r literal farmers and fishermen.

It’s actually quite bizarre, I don’t think they have the self awareness that it’s uncommon to go up to your coworker and hassle them for intel, who you spoke to, who was in the meeting, what you were talking about as though you’re an NPC in skyrim. Couple this with hiding work documents and only sharing it with fellow Indians and you have the product of generations of caste harem politics. Their core aim is to hide their own incompetence, get into a managerial position so as to protect their own caste mates.

In current era Anglo companies, the boomer white leadership are hyperfixated on competition from Chinese and other Asians and will often overlook the threat coming from Indians, hence why so much animosity towards Indians on twitter come from the working and professional classes as opposed to the ruling class types. In order to survive in Anglo corporate services as an Asian man when you don’t work a technical role, is to be the grey man, hide your abilities because it doesn’t take much for the Anglo white leadership to get insecure over a hardworking asian man. You could just be going about your day normally, living your life and even that would make them insecure.


If this were the western media, they’d be saying how this is a bad omen and how the Mandate of Heaven has been lost.

I am pretty sure Shanghai was a prospering town since the Song dynasty and that whole backwater is a myth generated by the concessions.

If that the case then how come to Old City of Shanghai exists (Not the concessions area and the bund).

But yeah it less trying to be an elitisim and more of "You forget we even exist and we are native to this land not you" because these Old Shanghainese like to act they run the place and it's culture and making it an area runned by Hanjians. Atleast I can use it as a badge of honor to put a distance of being Shanghainese because Shanghainese have a reputation that can only be rivaled by Beijingers (Who are North Easterners lol, Southern Chinese like to shit on the north but the Eastern areas are pretty much no different then each other).

Western elites think hiring Indians will help them defeat China. In fact it’s one of the main reasons why the West is in decline. They actually think India will help them defeat China. According to its developers, this chip could not only transform diagnostics and treatment for conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, but also boost the performance of brain-machine interfaces and assist surgeons.


Researchers from Peking University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences reported the breakthrough in a peer-reviewed study published in Science on Thursday, detailing a 40-nanometre memory chip with an integrated artificial neural network.


The device overcomes long-standing computational limits, enabling it to reconstruct complex brain surfaces in less than half a second – making it 50 to 478 times faster than state-of-the-art Nvidia A100 graphics processing unit (GPU) systems, according to the team.

Lead author Yang Yuchao, a professor at Peking University’s school of integrated circuits and deputy dean for its school of electronic and computer engineering, told state-run Guangming Daily that the chip could accurately render the brain’s folds for medical applications.


“This breakthrough opens up new possibilities for brain-computer interfaces and the diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases,” he said. “In the future, personalised and dynamic digital brain twins will become possible.”

The Chinese team solved this by integrating a neural dynamical system into a computing-in-memory architecture. This design performs data storage and computation within the same memory array.


They took a major flaw in phase-change memristors or next-generation memory chips – a glitch called “conductance drift” that usually makes data unstable – and turned it into a powerful tool for computing.


In an accompanying analysis in Science, two researchers at the Juelich Research Centre in Germany, who were not involved in the study, described performing data storage and computation in the same memory array as “analogous to processing raw milk on a dairy farm instead of transferring it to a factory”.

No its simple economics. Supply and demand. Demand for workers hasn't gone up but the supply of workers has. Of course someone is gonna be angry. The situation for that worker just got worse from a numbers pov.

But soon that won't matter because more and more stuff will be automated away by AI and other tools. Today we only need 3 workers to do what needed 7 people before. Soon it will be just 1 to oversee the robots. So most people will be out of work anyway.
