Well, it can only get better for Venezuela. The fact that millions of Venezuelans fled to Columbia out of all countries tells you all you need to know about the standard of living under Maduro's dictatorship. I think most Venezuelans would happily become US puppet in exchange for living standards improvement.

That is something they will never get, once a war starts, such a thing simply will not happen. Look at Afghanistan, things only got better when the USA was made to GTFO of that nation, does that mean when the USA finally goes the way of the Roman Empire (as in collapsing for real) that the world can finally catch a breather

Venezuelan vice president has taken over power.

It's like a peaceful transfer of power; Maduro just boarded a US military plane for a vacation. Ridiculous.

Venezuelan GBAD was surprisingly silent throughout this entire operation. I'm guessing either there is a coup or American EW and bombers silenced their sites before the air assault unit moved in

How badly were their anti air capabilities degraded that chinooks just flew in without getting lit up by manpads

Why do you assume that war will start over this?

No matter how much EW suppresses the air defense system, you can't suppress the Manpads held by infantry; But all that's taking the high ground are the residents' cell phones.

Yes, DIRCM can effectively deal with Manpads, but they haven't even tried.

I can't believe we are in a world where the US president can just kidnap a president of a foreign country on spot.

Why even have diplomacy or whatever now.
Well, this isn't the first time. They did it in Panama before.

That's how the world is. That's how the world has always been.

They've violated sovereignty countless times; there's no need to make a fuss every time it happens and then forget about it until it happens again.

Why do you assume that Madurai’s supporters are going to just let the USA can in and take what ever they want? And why do you also assume that now that Trump is resorting to kidnapping like this that the world will remain silent just because Europe is a collective bunch of yes men. Seriously it sounds like you are supporting this madness. Do you seriously believe that Trump can do something like this without consequences?

With such little apparent resistance a war is the furthest thing from a foregone conclusion i.e. unlikely, unless someone has credible information on partisans.
