China will not be as malevolent as a hegemonic force compared to the western empire which has enslaved over half the world and vassalfied just about everyone outside of a small handful of nations.

As for Japan, it's always been a backwater arsehole of Asia for literally ~99% of its history and will return to being a backwater nobody. Its founders were uncultured barbarians from China, Korea and Mongolia, imposing on Japan's natives. It has no culture. Pikachu and fake politeness is not a culture. Everything else that resembles an identity came from China and Korean peninsula, including literally all food that people think is Japanese from Ramen to Matcha to Sashimi, all of that was done in China centuries before it traveled to Japan. Like its affinity for anachronisms, Japan just preserved plenty of ancient Chinese cultural epithets. After WW2, they incorporated foreign foods. The only original food from Japan is sushi, onigiri, nigiri and other forms of "street food" that combines seafood with rice. These were relatively recent inventions anyway.
The main issue isn't any of this. It's that Japan wants to be an imperial force again and will get cut down to shreds before it even begins to step up. This is guaranteed and a divine right. Japan cannot be allowed to become an imposing military force for as long as humanity lasts. The souls of murdered tens of millions weigh on their backs. Explains why Japanese today are such pathetic halflings, spiritually paying for the incredible crimes of their grandfathers.
People don't know enough about how brutal Japanese were. It's the most fucked up version of humanity across history. Few acts of historic violence touches how disgusting Japanese were and the Japanese were on an industrial scale that has never been seen previously. This is a country that has a murderous cannibal walking around (after serving a joke of a sentence) and becoming a food critic. They are humanity's ugliness manifested into one collective and this collective has thoughts of attaining any real military power again. It exposes its ugliness after attaining power.
