The scenario you've proposed is completely reasonable, even if it's impossible to predict with much certainty if, when and how India will balkanize.

Not sure if the name India will persist, especially should more Indians realize that the term was effectively imposed upon their ancestors by Europeans.

Let's consider a slightly more imminent question: if India does balkanize sooner rather than later, say before the half way point of this century, the year 2050, what will likely trigger such a process?
India will be kept afloat but more in supplicant state. it still needed. Just look at Trump statements how he treat India. The only trigger that will accelerate balkanize process is when Gulf are more confident about Afghans.
I already posted several links about earlier division of India in this thread but reading and understanding is not for every one.
This period (1929) when US was essentially in Great depression and hardly need Oil. (Gulf State of Bahrain).

NO india at this 80th Anniversary!!! -they are simply not important enough ,totally adverserial to China(not saying USA now or historically Russia wasn't)...but recognizing today's realpolitik with them and China ,india is a non-factor.Also IIRC during the 1946-1948-IMTFE-an indian justice Rabindra Pal exonerated EVERY Japanese defendant ,saying it was "victors' justice" only -despite the documented horrific deeds of these IJN/IJA-the petty, hateful indian heart hasn't change-don't want the likes of Modi there polluting the atmosphere of an otherwise joyful and sombre celebration.
Indians actually fought for the Japanese. After the fall of Singapore, the Japanese created the Indian National Army, which 40,000 Indians volunteered for. Indians even made a movie glorifying those volunteers.

The mega project in Tibet will have five cascade hydropower stations, with a total investment estimated at around 1.2 trillion yuan (US$167 billion), the Xinhua report said.
This mega project costs 5x more than 3 gorges dam and it's 50% of yearly Chinese military expenditure. I don't think any other country could do this.

These Desi volunteers saw the Japanese as liberators and the British as oppressors.

Tells you a lot about just how evil the British were while ruling and exploiting India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

TBF, it's hard to blame some Indians for siding with the Japanese when the British arguably

Apparently there's some organized attempt to "cancel" the Electric Viking by those who don't want EVs being promoted. He thinks it's a legacy auto company(ies). He use to try to spread out the promotion EVs from all over but now it is heavily slanted towards Chinese EVs. That's because everyone else's EVs are crap. Remember when South Korea went through a scandal over their smart phone and car batteries spontaneously catching fire. A whole Samsung Galaxy line was cancelled because of it at the time. Then all of the sudden there were reports of Chinese EV batteries exploding. I think the Electric Viking also reported it back then. And the French get upset that they claim China is smearing the Rafale to kill international sale like the West doesn't do that. No, they're the Gods of that. After all that's a part of capitalism.
