It’s funny how what Trump understands about trade comes from the many years of lies told about it by the US. First is tariffs are paid for by the export country. That’s how US politicians used it in that context for a long time. Now you have criticism that Trump’s formula on tariffs is based on the price of products at retail value. It’s not based on the price bought when imported. Then the US counts for US products outsourced to other countries as products of that country. So if Trump thinks the country of origin pays the tariff, then when Apple sells an iPhone for $1K in the US and it’s been reported that China’s end only makes $10 from it and it’s a 54% tariff, Trump thinks China has to pay $540 to the US when it only made $10 from it. All this is based on lies about trade from the US that have been around for decades.
And Trump’s claims of election fraud is based on how television networks changed how they reported which party won by the party colors of red or blue. Before they would color a state when all votes were counted and the winner was confirmed. Now because they can report votes in real time as they come in, the color can transition from color to color back and forth. Trump being old school thinks once a state is colored, that means confirmation of the winner of that state. So simply because he saw a state change color before his eyes, it was because of election fraud is going on and not because they’re counting votes in real time as they’re coming in by precinct.
