quick question: Canadian citizens/PRs need TN visa to work in the US, yet they don't sponsor visas. So why do they add Canadian?
TN visa is super easy to get. The company just need a lawyer to draft a letter with your resume. You take the letter to the US border services before boarding at major Canadian airports. The process takes less than an hour and the visa is good for one year.

Are you sure this is from an AI firm, and wasn't generated by an (iffy) AI instead?

Anyhow from the looks of it, they basically don't want Indians (e.g. no visa sponsorship, no C2C, no Tata/Mahindra/Wipro/etc.), and really want pedigreed CS grads from prestigious schools who flourish in startup settings (i.e. long hours, multiple hats, a bit or a lot of chaos).

TBF, what they're looking for isn't hard to find at all so long as the comp is there.

Considering that "expertise" in JavaScript is the only somewhat clearly stated technical requirement, and the insistence on pedigreed candidates, they're probably looking for folks that are highly presentable to a certain variety of investors, who're most likely "into diversity" as well.

Not to say that there was or wasn't a bio attack, but the British owes just about everyone reparations for their countless crimes.

We can start with the many antiquities and numerous items of tangible cultural heritage that the British looted and stole over the course of the last two centuries or so.
this is the kind of position that people say that can make 200k starting salary with BS only?

then they deserve every penny.

they're recruiting from a pool of candidates on the order of <20k people/350M or 5.7E-5 of the population, 1 in 20000.

NYU got hacked and the SAT average scores got leaked.

Some Twitter guy made a few calculations:

The Asian share at NYU is around 27%. If there had been no discrimination, it would have risen to 54%. The White share would have risen from 23% to 30%. The Black and Hispanic shares would have fallen to 1% each. Rest would've been internationals.

Will anything change? I doubt it. Despite SCOTUS outlawing racial discrimination, it seems universities are going to continue.
If you're interested in this sort of thing then Steve Sailer, I/o, Emil Kierkegaard are good follows.

Not sure if their candidate pool is indeed limited to <20k people, but the ideal candidate for them appears to be the sort who'd otherwise be able to secure employment at a FANG, perhaps in high finance, or at a startup, possibly of their own and most likely backed by serious VC $.

So TC offered will need to be comparable with the applicable competition.

TBF, a $200,000 salary would be a reasonably good start, but $200,000 TC will not cut it for the sort of candidates they're looking for, unless they're willing to hire fresh or at least fresher grads rather than those with 4-10 years of experience.

Having dabbled in JS it seems like the sort of thing that you can actually replace with current AI.

October election is scrapped. Liberals calling in their best chances while Trump beating the tariff war drums.
This will be an interesting election to say the least. The Canadian conservatives are becoming increasingly more and more American style cuntservatives - demagoguery and carrying the victimized MINDSET. They complain about the state of the Canadian healthcare and the solution they want to implement is an American style system - in which those who can afford can definitely jump the que to see the best specialists while leaving the shittiest system to all the rest. The majority of these conservative leanings are making lemons in terms of income to begin with.
