More importantly, if you actually read the details, they said US refused to implement China's demand that US implement "consumer side" changes to fentanyl, i.e. China's demanding US make domestic policy changes as condition for talks, in other words China's basically saying "both fentanyl and tariff are your problem, not mine"

I get your point but China did not put any pre-conditions for talks. No pathways were provided.
officials in Beijing say the US hasn’t outlined detailed steps they expect from China on fentanyl in order to have the tariffs lifted

Trumps team said they gave it via diplomatic messages.
President Donald Trump’s team rejects the assertion that it hasn’t given clear demands on fentanyl, pointing to messages the White House has sent to China through diplomats in Washington,

If China is the one barring talks. Why aren’t the Americans reiterating their demands? This is diplomacy. Why are the Americans refusing to write down their terms on paper which if agreed will be signed by both presidents.

Pope Francis is improving and is no longer in ‘imminent danger,’ Vatican source says

CNN —
Pope Francis is not considered to be in imminent danger from the infection he arrived to the hospital with, a Vatican source said on Monday.

Francis was admitted to Rome’s Gemelli Hospital in mid-February and has been battling pneumonia in both of his lungs.

For the first time since his hospitalization, the Vatican said doctors have decided to lift the prognosis, citing improvements in his clinical situation.

But the pope’s clinical condition is still “complex” and he is not entirely out of danger, the source said.

A Vatican source said there is no timeline for his release from the hospital, and that Francis is continuing to receive the same oxygen therapy he has been receiving over the past few days.

According to the Vatican on Monday, the pope was able to remotely take part in the spiritual exercises – where leaders of the Vatican gather in a hall to listen to reflections and spend time in prayer – taking place at the Vatican for Lent. He also received the Eucharist and went to the chapel at the hospital for prayer.

Earlier on Monday the Vatican said the pope was continuing “motor and respiratory” therapy prescribed by doctors and is eating solids.

The 88-year-old pontiff is alternating between non-invasive mechanical ventilation at night, in which oxygen is delivered through a mask, and high-flow oxygen therapy through nasal cannulas during the day, it said.

The Vatican added that the pope is aware about the flooding in the Argentine port city of Bahía Blanca, where more than a dozen people have died and over a thousand people have been evacuated, according to local authorities.

“He is close to the suffering of the people affected,” the Vatican said of Francis, who was born in Argentina’s capital of Buenos Aires and who served as the city’s archbishop before his election as pope.

“I offer fervent prayers for the eternal rest of the deceased,” Francis said in a message of condolences published by the Vatican press office on Monday. He said he was saddened to hear about the natural disaster and expressed his support for those involved in search, rescue and reconstruction efforts.

Over the weekend, a Vatican source said Francis was showing a good response to treatment for the first time since his hospitalization. He was showing “a good response to therapy” and a “gradual, slight improvement” since his episodes of acute respiratory failure last week, the Vatican said Saturday.

Uncertainty and anxiety have continued to swirl in the Vatican throughout Francis’ extended hospital stay. He released a pre-recorded audio message last Thursday thanking his supporters for their prayers.
But the pope’s clinical condition is still “complex” and he is not entirely out of danger, the source said.

From the Bloomberg article:

President Donald Trump's team rejects the assertion that it hasn't given clear demands on fentanyl, pointing to messages the White House has sent to China through diplomats in Washington, including Ambassador Xie Feng, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Those included asking China to stop sending chemicals to produce the drug to Mexico, use the death penalty for smugglers and order the People's Daily newspaper to run a front-page article condemning the fentanyl trade, the person said.

"The Trump administration has ruled out granting Australia a tariff exemption on its steel and aluminium exports.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt says the decision has been made to put America’s steel first, and Australia is welcome to move its steel manufacturers to the US.

Mr Trump says his country will take hundreds of billions of dollars in tariffs.

The 25 per cent tariffs will come into effect later today."
....
Kinda double standard-ish?

US says it will ‘immediately’ resume military aid and intelligence sharing with Kyiv."

Pakistan Separatists Hijack Train With 400 Onboard and Give Ultimatum

The militants, Baloch ethnic fighters, said they would kill dozens of seized security personnel if the Pakistani government did not agree to a prisoner exchange.
Separatist militants hijacked a train carrying more than 400 people in an isolated mountainous area of southwestern Pakistan on Tuesday.
A militant group that claimed responsibility for the attack said it was holding scores of security personnel who had been on the train, and it threatened to kill them if the Pakistani government did not agree to a prisoner exchange.
The fate of the rest of the passengers was not immediately clear, though security officials said that at least 104 of them, mostly women and children, had been rescued, and that 17 injured passengers had been taken to the hospital for treatment.
The militants, Baloch ethnic fighters, forced the train to stop in the Bolan district of Balochistan Province after opening fire on it, according to railway and police officials.
The train was traveling from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, to Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. It was scheduled to pass through several cities, including Lahore and Rawalpindi, near Islamabad. But it became stranded inside a tunnel about 100 miles from Quetta as it came under attack, and the driver was killed, according to the local authorities.
Shahid Rind, a spokesman for the Balochistan provincial government, said the authorities had initially struggled to reach the site of the ambush because of the challenging terrain.
But security officials said that an operation was underway to rescue the passengers. A large number of helicopters were seen heading toward Bolan from the military air base in Quetta.

Typical Indians celebrating online whenever their terrorist attacks succeeds. Pakistan bros, stay strong!

As I said, this is the fundmental gap in American understanding, they think China cares about talk or an agreement or a meeting.
China does not have pre-condition for talks because China isn't interested in talks, and there are no talks.

China told Rubio to FAFO, Chinese foreign ministry said if you want to fight, let's fight, China hit US with disproportionate retalitory tariffs, China put export ban on US, China sanctioned two major US companies out of the blue and China removed export rebates to increase prices.

And now Trump's attempt to meet with Xi is stuck at low level officials and China just told the US "it's your problem, you fix it yourself"

Do you get it? there will be no agreement, there will be no talks, there will be no diplomacy, there will be no signing. As China already said, if you want to fight, let's fight, that's all there is to it.

Many of the Tibetans in India are not necessarily activists. Many were born into the poverty and discrimination in India. These are not decent living standards compared to their compatriots in Xizang.

However those professional activists are mostly descended from serf-owners. Their families already have plenty of beef with China. They will find more common grounds with the Indian caste system than rule of law in Xizang.
Can't wait for this Dalai Lama to croak and watch this fake Indian/Western backed movement die already.

I bet most people can't even name an actual Tibetan who isn't the dalai lama. Hell how many of them know his actual name and not his title?

Me? I can list 4 off the top of my head since I am somewhat familiar with Chinese MMA and Tibetans have a strong presence thanks to the Enbo Fight Club.

That did not take long for any rapprochement to go down the toilet between Russia and the USA. Oh well, Ukraine chose its fate, let’s hope Zelensky has enough coke to blunt the fuck ups to come. Oh and Trump, he really has done monument damage to the USA and quite frankly, it’s his own damn fault. Thinks he is a master mind but he has and always been a successful con man, successful one time too many and now on the verge of finding out from the whole FAFO meme

From the Bloomberg article:

Then write it down on as a term for the agreement. Why are the Americans hesitant to write it out on paper? China has already acted in good faith but the US does not. How does China know the US won’t use the same excuses next time? If it isn’t being written down on paper and signed. Then did it really happen for the US propaganda machine? As far as I am concerned, this is another promise from the US just like they promised Russia they wouldn’t expand eastward.

China is willing to take judicial action against companies and individuals engaged in illegal production of fentanyl precursors, but the US hasn’t provided concrete evidence
