I also wonder if DeepSeek was the spark to set this all in motion.
Like some guys from a hedge fund made an AI model for fun for a few million and proved all that US AI bubble was overpriced crap. There was an initial stock market sell off before it went back up. But now I'm wondering if it has set in long term where people realize most bigtech is in fact a overpriced scam. If that happens, markets around the world are gonna be deep red for quite a while and a lot of people are gonna get hurt.

Don't like this guy one bit. This is akin to appointing a Nazi as a Secretary of State. This kind of character would be begging for war to happen. Luckily China is better prepared this time. There is much more military might and economic resilient than during Trump's first term.
Still, as the Ukraine War winds down, we should still keep vigilant for the next war. Once that war is over, I expect at least a one year gap before Trump attempts to provoke some kind of proxy war with China. The Korean Peninsula and the Philippines is looking very suspect these days.

I don't actually understand what he wants to do. His ideas read like he's schizophrenic.
So he is an American nationalist, but he wants US to have a civil war? While in this civil war, he wants to fight Democrats but at the same time fight China, even if Democrats is basically China's no1 enemy. And somewhere involved in this is "islamism", but isn't islamism America's ally? Only the Shia sect is outright hostile to US, while Sunnis are neutral.
The only country he wants to be allied to Israel, but has he considered if Israel even wants to be allied to him? Israel has always taken aid money from US then slipped protection fees/intel data under the table to China. Because Israel puts itself first, and they know hostile China means the "Muslim hordes" will suddenly get better tech/weapons than Israel.
Nothing makes sense.
If there is an "American crusade", the resulting internal casualties and enemies made from former allies (take Turkey as an example, which Hegseth himself complains about) will ruin any chance US has to compete let alone fight with China, for centuries to come.
He comes off as a Japanese imperialist in 1930 arguing about how Japan needs to go to war with all western powers while Japanese within the empire need to have a massive battle royale including bringing back sword testing on peasants to return the "bushido spirit". Supremacist ideology is irrational and always ends up as some weird and nonsensical mess. I remember researching Nazi ideology a while back and I couldn't believe the rubbish I was reading, I just came to the conclusion that some people are just devils and their entire existence is to watch the world burn. At the end of the day, Trump and co want to wrap up the Russian-Ukrainian war, leave Europe to take charge of their own security and marshal resources to focus on containing China. Trump has torn down America's soft power and wants to use hard power to enforce American primacy.
What I wonder is what they plan to do to "contain" China though. Is it provoking China and baiting them to react so they can create a pretext to go to war? Is it coercing their vassals to punish China economically through tariffs and trade embargoes? Is it all of the above? Whatever the case may be China better anticipate what's coming and stay ready.
