No idea if Trump has the wisdom or appetite for such an experiment, and Russia may not be all that comfortable about such a possibility either.
However, one option is to divide Ukraine between the US and Russia just as Germany and the former USSR divided Poland in 1939.
Maybe such a deal would be workable, at least with Congress and America's donor class, and perhaps even arguably financially lucrative for the purposes of reconstruction in Ukraine, if the future Ukrainian government "placed into power" in western Ukraine welcomes ~2 million Gazans with open arms . . .
That sounds like the most likely scenario in all fairness, though it's less that Trump tried, and more that Zelensky, if not Ukraine as a nation, was ungrateful and out of bounds. As far as President Trump and his base are concerned, he is always trying and fighting for the American people. That is the default.
Trump is not a real estate developer at his core: he is a celebrity in the business of cultivating and monetizing his brand, image and influence. Narrative management is obviously both a priority for him and a knack of his.
Zelensky lives in the fantasy of his one-sided narrative, portraying Putin as a warmongering villain who invaded Ukraine without reason due to his dream of a Russian empire.
He wants "security guarantees," even including an air defense system. Are you asking for THAAD? Let's not forget that the root of all Russia's current actions stems from NATO's continuous eastward expansion, constantly eroding its security boundaries.
And now you even want Russian and American armed forces to directly border each other, expect this to lead to a ceasefire?
I do really dislike Trump, but he is correct on this point. Zelensky is indeed playing a very dangerous game that could even lead to a third world war.

The point is if Zelenski dont care of its fellow ukranians he dont care at all for US, nuclear war or whatever.
The problem is this myth created around Zelenski like he is ta savior of the world.
Anyone reasonable and with the minimum level of objetivity realise that it does not have sense to send your kids to die for a territory where anyway a big chunk people arguably want to be part of Russia.
What Zelenski is doing is similar to Mexico not giving up Texas to the Us, and sending their kids to die for a territory where anyway texans did not want to be part of Mexico.
Mexico did the correct thing when fighting a more powerful adversary. Fight a bit and then surrender. But probably Mexican leader was of the same ethnic and religion that average mexicans, thing that cannot be said in Ukraine...
These people are psychopaths, plain and simple.
