"Donald Trump's former national security adviser, John Bolton, tells Tom Swarbrick that it's "highly probable" the US President will attempt to withdraw from NATO.
Trump has urged NATO members to increase their defence spending from 2% to 5% of GDP, but Bolton doesn't believe many countries will comply.
"There's almost no country that will go to 5%," Bolton stresses, adding that Trump is already laying the "preconditions" for the US to leave the alliance.
"He wants to be able to say 'it's worthless,'" Bolton explains.
Bolton also shares his views on Trump's start to his second term, stating: "He has no philosophy. He has no grand strategy." "
