Lmao, this coming from the same city whose residents were conned into the anti-Zero-Covid "protests" (botched color revolution attempt) just two years ago.
Pretty sure that was just a psyop from China itself. Not a single person was charged in the aftermath, which wouldn't be the case if there was dirty American money involved.

The goal was to counteract the strong fear of covid in the public, because when opening up, there will inevitably be the same number of deaths as in a seasonal flu (few 1000s). If psyop engineering is not used however, people would have been unduly scared and maybe stirred up trouble.
What they actually need is not for the moron petite bourgeois Chinese libs who apparently thought dishwashers in the US were living large in paid-off penthouses, until just recently when they encountered actual Americans on XHS, to have easier access to more Western internet slop. The only thing that this "lawmaker" needs is to be rounded up by the military police and made to change his family name to prevent an unworthy lib from sharing the same name as Mao.
I don't really see a need to lower the firewall either, but it's not going to be a big deal if it's gone. There's much more Chinese net users than US ones.

Lowering firewall puts China and US netizens on almost equal footing. The better strategy is to expand the global coverage of China's firewall while lessening the traffic inside US' firewall.

It takes one to know one, if Musk is calling the $500b AI thing a scam, you best believe it is...

But here is the thing, comparing this grift to Apollo is somewhat ironic

Scam or not, this is likely going the way of Build Back Better and that Blue Dot intiative

In the off chance they do appear to be pulling it off, China has the ultimate rugpull levers of Tiawan and TSMC

The Anglo comparing this to Manhattan project is forgetting that this time around, they getting their uranuim from China....

I was surprised no one put the California HSR mega spend on that list...

I don’t know if this is happening in Davos but some AI conference is happening somewhere and so far they’re talking about the AI race between the US and China but seem to be ignoring the DeepSeek news completely. It’s like their whole narrative has been ruined so they’re going to continue on as if it didn’t happen.

"How Labeling Cartels ‘Terrorists’ Could Hurt the U.S. Economy
Isolating U.S. companies from cartel activities could be almost impossible given that the criminal groups operate in sectors like agriculture and tourism, leaving some American businesses vulnerable to sanctions." NYT

Is this an admission of guilt?

This attuited should have been the tone Biden administration used regarding China in the last 4 years. By pretending there is no emerging superpower on the other side of the pacific all their lackey countries could continue to pretend everything is the same as before.

But instead people in the Biden administration couldn't get in front of a meeting or a reporter without mentioning China. By keep saying "we have to prevent China from rising up to be the dominant power" it ironically plants the idea in people's head that "China is on the verge of greatness and replacing America, that's why Whitehouse is so worried about it". 4 years ago if I asked a geopolitical hangout question like "how does China compare to Soviet Union at its peak during the cold war in terms of relative strength to US" people would say China was nowhere close. Where as today even on very pro-US places like X when this question comes up people would say "China is a much greater threat than the Soviet Union ever was" without hesitation. A lot of that is actually thanks to the Biden administration.

It doesn't really work with AI though since AI can actually be measured with benchmark tools and anyone curious can just download the distilled versions and run it on their own PC to play with it. Hell I have deepseek-r1:14b running right here besides me and I'm very impressed with it.

The biggest different is that the "SeeSeePee" AGI will be open source, technically transparent, reproducible by the research community and people will be able to use it in their local hardware.
Stargate will be a dystopian oligarch wet dream, close sourced and non-reproducible by the research community.
Also with Stargate, all queries and data you send will be recorded and monitored by the tech companies and US government agencies.

Anybody who has done more than 20 minutes serious research into the possibility of a manned Mars mission will come to the conclusion that we will have a commercially viable nuclear fusion plant running before that event happens. Musk is definitely trying to sell you a bridge when he talks about setting foot on Mars by any date that comes out of his mouth.
