A lot of that is actually thanks to the Biden administration.

It doesn't really work with AI though since AI can actually be measured with benchmark tools and anyone curious can just download the distilled versions and run it on their own PC to play with it. Hell I have deepseek-r1:14b running right here besides me and I'm very impressed with it.

i think you are too much relying on AI as measure of success. who else knows AI better than Arabs?. they have unrestricted access to the best of the best. They will not even discuss the Russian talent. It is not just Soviet Union but Russian empire that was biggest threat to West through out history. it fought for centuries with Ottomans. now what is Ottoman empire. Its key ingredients are Arabic ideology, Jews and Western Europe support. The same logic applies to Soviet Union vs US. where is China history against such a alliance?
Just yesterday Syrian minister said that Syria will dismantle socialism. Can China put sanctions on them and there backers? there many other examples i dont need to go over it. Arabs have there own intelligence that they bought with practically unlimited wealth.

Yeah I don't think having 2 order of magnitude lower efficiency and 100x higher cost qualifies America as China's peer

The majority of top AI researchers on the planet are Chinese, even the majority of top AI researchers in the US are Chinese, at end of the day China has always been the leader in AI and the result shows.

SpaceX docs says (and everyone in the space industry knows) Starship is a Starlink deployer, and it will be pretty good at that when its matured. It's not an efficient deep space architecture at all.
