That was fast

So let me get this straight

Trump asked to originally ban TikTok and Dems opposed him. The Dems actually banned it and Trump opposed them. Now Trump is a hero and Dems are hated even though he started this whole mess.

How did he do it? He outplayed them hard.

I learn how to cause a problem, make my enemies take the blame for it and get people to call me a hero for bringing things back to normal.
Trump and republicans tries to ban Tiktok, loses 2020 election. Biden and democrats tries to ban Tiktok, loses 2024 election.
What does this mean? This means Tiktok is an actual major major major problem, a real national security concern :)

in times of war, the laws fall silent
I don’t usually agree with Legalism but I do think that Shang Yang gets it right from time to time.

, often considered to be the greatest representative of Chinese Legalism (法家), with the creation of two theories;

  1. "fixing the standards" (

Believing in the rule of law and considering loyalty to the state above that of the family, Yang introduced two sets of changes to the State of Qin.

Qin was the most effective fighting force in Warring States China but it wasn’t always the case. Only after proper reform, when everyone is punishable by crime (including royalty) and rewards are based on merit did it become so, unifying the six nations and ushering in the first dynasty. Do you think that a nation that treats a law, about national security no less, like a farce can be effective during war?

you make a good point, Trump is essentially bringing all influential social media platforms under his command. First x now TT. even after his tenure ends he would still retain huge sway over US politics.
Trump is just a tool whose usefulness ends with his tenure, Elon and China are the ones that retains influence, and Elon is himself China's tool...

Well, there are people on Weibo who proposed that since Trump started the Trump Coin (川币), Jake Sullivan should start the Sullivan Coin (沙币) as well.

And anyone who doesn’t get it should just jump on the learn Chinese bandwagon. I heard it is the next big TikTok trend.
Blinken's would be called B币, perfectly matching what he did in the last four years.

I’m watching the round table news shows and all these talking heads think TikTok’s only choice is to sell and that’s what they’re expecting. None of them are expecting it’s not going to be sold and they’re angry that there’s been no movement. Yeah they’re worried that if these TikTokers are flocking to a real Chinese app out of spite and are not influenced by being called antisemitic, they can easily vote them out of office.
