okay, some content so this isn't just a meme post --- I feel like most of the time the "Xi wins doing nothing" meme isn't quite justified; it's more like the steady efforts of the Chinese people and Chinese government are paying off while the US and its vassels careen from one crisis (often self-inflected) to the next.

But this XHS soft power bonanza is truly a "do nothing and win" scenario. It's just astounding how much the TikTok ban has backfired on the American political class and their Israeli-affiliated masters.

China picks its battles better. Like look at that 1.6 billion going into buying twitter bots and Wikipedia editors for US, in a year, no-one will remember anything they wrote. This is the epitome of doing nothing.

In China, that money would have been used to improve the country, which later allows China to make real plays (like annhilating the EU industry or taking over the autos market) that have actual value. This is called doing something, instead of doing nothing but being loud like US.

2 years into Ukraine war and US doesn't have an independent drone maker for the US military or emergency service yet. More doing nothing.

Would you rather have a police department that spends 24/7 chasing kids smoking weed and then brags about how much wins they're getting, or a department that stays silent while building up their cases and then claps organized criminals once the cases are done?

Any preconceived notion about the company is rapidly changing given the pace of growth of the company.

Well the quoted tweet by Beijing Dai was talking about state of Xiaohongshu before the wall fell. It may be different now, but we all know what it was like before.

No even before this thing, the 80% female stat is widely quoted because it was from an article a year or two ago - and as I guaranteed that the company is focused on monetization, I guarantee you that mix is a lot more balanced than it was before.
