Wouldn’t it be interesting if Mexico’s standard of living rose to where it would break their dependency on the US. It might stop the flow of illegal immigrants to the US. And the US would see that as bad because probably one of the things how Americans feel superior is by how many non-whites want to go to the US because it says the US has superior standard of living. Look how they claim every rich person in China wants to live in the US. It’s very important to Americans to believe they live better than everyone else. The US will invade Mexico to stop it from happening.

"Germany's far-right AfD nominated co-leader Alice Weidel as their chancellor candidate on Saturday (January 11) at a party congress in the eastern German city of Riesa.

The party meeting was streamed live on Elon Musk's platform X.

In Weidel's speech at the party congress, she vowed to close borders, end the energy transition and abandon EU climate policy, called for longer operating times for coal-fired power plants and the reopening of Nordstream.

The AfD comes second at 21.5% in a recent INSA poll ahead of the February 23 general election, with the CDU in the lead."
AfD is going nowhere because their coalition potential is nonexistent. The end result will very likely be another three-way coalition government with CDU in charge this time. Only thing that remains to be seen is if CDU prefers SPD or Greens as a coalition partner. I hope they choose SPD because I don't want to see or hear Annalena "360 degrees" Baerbock ever again.

I don't even know why western europe would remain in NATO. Let the warmongering eastern state remain since they would be the first to get hit if anything happen. They have more of an reason to hold up the defense and fight to the last.

Depending on:

i. how the war in Ukraine plays out,
ii. how antagonistic Mr. Trump gets with Europe, and
iii. the outcome of upcoming German elections,

. . . there's a not insignificant chance that certain NATO countries, in particular the ones situated in Southern Europe, and maybe even Germany and France, will be reducing the scope, if not resetting the status of their NATO memberships.

1. Very good point. TikTok should go global and stay global, and be reliable for the global audience. The VPN is the best way to do it.

Waiting for ByteDance VPN - Access TikTok, Anytime, Anywhere!

Not sure if a VPN service will suffice, assuming the US government even bothers to null route all of TikTok's IP addresses.

The problem is once TikTok is legally banned for US users, US advertisers won't be able to advertise to US users on TikTok either. US advertisers can try, but no major advertiser will try because they know doing so will earn them the wrath of Congress or even federal prosecutors.

We can't expect TikTok to entertain US based users for free, can we?!

I think AfD are nothing like the Nazi's but like I've said before, in Germany some things never change.

BTW, this is why western Europe wants to remain in NATO.

No one expects the AfD to come out on top this election. However, depending on how long the next government lasts, the AfD may find itself forming a governing coalition sooner rather than later.

The media and their critics might equate the AfD to the NSDAP, but they're simply not the same thing.

These days, the term Nazi is thrown around as a pejorative and insult, rather than a serious and descriptive political characterization.

No, AfD won't be forming a governing coalition. Unless they win 50%+ votes, they will never be in power. As I've already said, literally no one wants to enter into coalition with AfD. If a push comes to shove, CDU will even team up with Sahra Wagenknecht just to prevent AfD from participating in government. Such was the case after election in Thuringen was held.

I agree with you that the AfD will not be forming a governing coalition this election.

However, considering the state of affairs in and around Germany, there's not an insignificant chance that the AfD may win enough votes at some point before this decade concludes to form and lead a coalition government ruling Germany.

Priscilla Chan has failed to get Facebook into China. She is no longer needed for Mark's asian-friendly optics and has no further purpose.
It's time to re-equip, possibly with a Brahmin lawyer, a MAGA tradwife or an Israeli Ashkenazi.
Or the wife went "ooh husband you stayed democrat and woke too long, now we don't have a house anymore" meme.
