China's corruption watchdog has called on online video-sharing platforms to take action against "mukbang" shows, in which people livestream themselves eating - or drinking - excessively, saying such content encourages food waste.

Meanwhile, in Western media, an alternate universe, China is a place running out of food and entering famine.

What the hell is going on in Kiev
I read somewhere (prolly the South Front) that some clique may wish to exploit Kiev to sabotage the Nord Stream 2... a war outbreak between Ukraine vs. Russia may help that agenda. The current weak president of UKR is a good peon. The coming NATO war exercise in UKR this middle of April (iirc) led by UK can be a good opportunity or camouflage to attack the border area of UKR-RUS to end the Novorossiya or so. No wonder RUS is well prepared for any possibility. RUS won't make the first move, but certainly will hit back if UKR goes to Novorossiya.

I agree with someone exploiting Ukraine to stop Nord Stream 2

I am 100% sure this is orchestrated from the US

Nonetheless, a "culture" of WASTING is not healthy, and state must push through society to reject any WASTING behaviour incl. barring the platforms to support such ridiculous, excessive actions, be it "mukbang" or whatsoever. People tend to be gullible , some are even more prone to the wrong things, it's the state authority and obligation to correct the improprieties. WASTING FOOD is a capital sin, and serious wrong doing!!! I never like people wasting food, from my childhood till present days.

Mukbang isn't just about waste.

It's not healthy to binge eat and also encourages obesity.

@windsclouds2030 if Nord Stream 2 is finished and begin to operate, Ukraine source of revenue for the transit fee from the original pipeline will shrink by half. And its ironic the Ukrainian had been known to siphoning off some of the gas bound for Germany and use the money to arm themselves to fight the Russian.

A side note the Novorossiya militia is well armed and equip, I read news that the Ukraine Army suffered a lot of casualties from the border fight with the militia whose number amounted to 28,000 men. With Russia at her back their morale is high and that confidence is reflected on their performance.

What happen after Xi
Perhaps the next Deng Xiaoping may appear, or Zhou Enlai, or the modern version of Mao Zedong, and in this age not to lead a sandwiched, poor China but a strong, advanced one. All these figures have good and strong leadership, nationalistic, clean and strong characters, only the state of nation was still poor, backward, weak, or undeveloped back then! When we all read and study the history, we should put things in the right contexts, it's of paramount importance for the accurate understanding!

One day when the time comes for Xi to step down from his formal positions, he may still get involved by taking the back stage role like Deng Xiaoping in the past, if necessary. Top leadership is not just for every one. And nation should not gamble its fate! China definitely needs not to follow the Western political system! Stability and Harmony are the key foundation for the most populous nation... any threat to these qualities is a dire threat, and must be dealt accordingly.

And who ever be the leader, he needs to possess these basic qualities: nationalistic, loyal to the nation and party; clean/incorruptible (not a personal material seeker); strong character; smart, a person of acumen; side by people's and national interests (unselfish; not a self-centric personality); wise & far thinking... have a good understanding on Chinese history...

And WHY am I a staunch supporter of Xi Jinping leadership??? :D Because he has the qualities that I listed above as the "necessary basic qualities"!!

Watching today's world, seeing the qualities of leaderships in the Western nations such as the USA, CAN, GBR, AUS, FRA, ITA, SPA and many others within NATO or EU... there is nothing to envy from their leaderships and political systems... luckily they don't have the population the size of China, otherwise I can't imagine on how can they take care people of that many. Lucky, most of them are already rich from the past wealth accumulation, and in general the population of each nation is relatively small in tens of million magnitude, and some like CAN and AUS are granted with lots of wealth beneath their lands yet their populations are small. Only USA with its 333 million is big among this class, but it has the WRC $$$ printers to assist. And country like FRA still needs to suck the wealth out of the 14 African countries through the CFA Franc scheme! But in principle the population size is an extremely important determinant here!

@windsclouds2030 Xi first policy is to go back to the countryside sending a lot of communist cadre to assist the development, using his own personal experience as an example thus the poverty alleviation program had been introduce, planting the seed for future cadre to possess these basic qualities: nationalistic, loyal to the nation and party; clean/incorruptible (not a personal material seeker); strong character; smart, a person of acumen; side by people's and national interests (unselfish; not a self-centric personality); wise & far thinking... have a good understanding on Chinese history...

That will be Xi lasting legacy reforming the party structure with hands on experience for party cadre thus maintaining a steady stream of capable party members.

Yeah the next leader must have a lot of qualities. The key here is "incorruptible", as long as corruption is kept down and even if a bad leader does nothing, China will keep getting more prosperous.

And yes, the other countries which have corrupt and incompetent leaders are mostly living beyond their means, by the wealth their ancenstors built (or plundered...)
