This had to happen anyway, privatising the railways lines has been chaotic and crap on the British train networks and it’s disgusting to see other nations having drunk the kool aid of privatisation of railways for eg Norway.

It’s an infinite money hack for the wealthy and well connected.

The most profitable parts of public services are privatised for pennies on the pound, and the new private owners proceed to milk it for every penny it’s worth, endlessly raising fairs and paying out vast dividends while cutting staff and slashing invest to zero.

After a few decades, when the service is literally falling apart, the government is forced to step in and renationalise it, and then spend the next decade pouring vast amounts of public money to make up for all of the omitted investments. And as soon as the service is profitable again, it needs to be privatised again.
