US already stole TSMC's IP through unlimited backdoor access to their systems, including ASML machines which they literally admitted to. None of that could save Intel from failing.
IP is just the observable static byproduct of talent, technology is a moving target and the real resources are the people and talent who created them.
TSMC need to move everything and everyone to the US for US to have a chance, which requires US to abandon Intel, welcome massive number of Asians, then give them overriding authority over locals, literally opposite of everything Trump believes in. Any half measures in doing so will dilute talent and hurt both US and TSMC, which suits China.
Intel, the only US fab is now on death watch (and also reliant on TSMC) , Samsung has just shut down half their fab lines because lack of mainland orders. However its done, China's goals are being achieved.
People meme about China doing nothing and win, but what actually happens is the skill is in knowing when to do nothing and making your opponent do it for you (including destroying TSMC)

At the same time Trump is somehow less dumb compared to democrats when it comes to China. Despite insulting so many, he has frequently said Xi is a tough guy to deal with and China is not to be underestimated. The western msm chided him for "sucking up" to Xi. Apparently instead of being honest he should of just been like Biden and dismiss Xi and China entirely while looking stupid in front of them.
Ok there was a trade war and there was anger over covid. Meanwhile under Biden, China almost went to war over Taiwan and there were way more hard hitting tech sanctions as well. Not to mention the massive increase in anti China media. Oh and the nerve of Biden to somehow blame China for Ukraine and Israel.
Apparently those DPP guys in Taiwan are far less cocky now Trump is here. After all he said since we are defending you guys, you better give us something coz it ain't free.

Seems like you’re reading too much into this. Chinese social media news is inconsistent and usually just noise. Also, doesn’t Xi say something about improving relations every other month? Chinese gov doesn’t whine about the US gov every single day while fantasizing about vaporizing the entire civilian population for no reason like the other way around. Most Chinese “hatred” of Americans is defensive while American hatred is lashing out against anyone against them even mildly.
