They are working on it in China, but they are still way behind on the technology ladder.

China can move very fast, but they cannot conjure up miracles too. So I don't truly know how fast they could catch up to contemporary ASML DUV machines. It's a tech war, China won't even release the name of machine manufactureres for operational security, and Huawei to date has not even officially said their chips are 7nm, and you think China will release the specs and manufacturers of their latest machines?

The way you'll find out about Chinese EUV is when a 3nm consumer chip is released and people wonder how they got one from ASML.

I love how Americans like to point out how "China is still behind". The US's mainstay W88 nuclear warhead was designed on an Apple IIe despite how the US had all the supercomputers back then. Why is the West complaining today that China dominates legacy chips? Those are old not as advanced chips. Why do they care if having the best and being number one is all that counts. Others are suppose to be first right off the bat and if you're not somehow you're suppose to give up and surrender. That's why they accuse China of daring to undermine the Western world order.
