That's not enough. India will still be a very uncomfortable neighbor even if they are not in BRICS. China should start the balkanization process of India. After all, India is created by the British. The less the world deal with British legacy the better.

It's rich just because the other major/strategic Chinese cities are rich. Beijing isn't going to piss off popular sentiment by ghettofying Taiwan just because of the KMT infestation. So they got to partake in the national reconstruction.
If KMT ran the whole country, they would have run it around ages ago with way lower gdp per capita. They can barely keep some of China's historically richest areas on par with other 1st tier areas.
That high per capita is assigned due to value of exports that are used in other countries. Taiwan median salary is Eastern EU and PPP will be even lower and birth rates are trending lower than South Korean. so who knows in this FMS packages there is more contractors support. and Taiwan not capable of auditing these sales. I mean when is overcharging foreign customers a priority unless they have done some political contributions.
