This I really do not understand.
These last few years, the anti-China rhetoric from the Western media really has reach Cold War levels when Chairman Mao was still around.
All I can tell, the only people truly on board with America in their anti-China campaign, are those bureaucrats in the EU. For everyone else in the world, it is business as usual with China.
More business dealings, some friction, more business dealings, some more friction. Like what has really changed? Other than American resentment going through the roof.

I used to think China was backwards but it turns out they were ahead of the curve.
They knew democracy is just the equivalent of a high school popularity contest.
They knew free speech doesn't really exist. Rather it is speech you can say but you will have to take full responsibility for it even if the reaction is adverse. They also knew that people are not responsible with their speech so they have controls to mitigate such risk. And that is assuming they are not saboteurs.
They knew leaving your internet in the hands of westerners is a very bad idea.
They knew self dependency is the only thing to keep you safe.
Turns out western ideas are merely fads like pop music which will not live past it's cool period. And now we see it happening.
Western ideas were only considered cool because the west was rich. But the west was rich simply because they were close enough to loot the Americas first and use the money to develop faster since they didn't have such a deep system. Basically just technology advancement. Without that everything falls flat as we see now. China has thousands of years of experience to work from. And from those times it failed, it learns its lesson which is why it's still here while most ancient powers are dust now.
