Now Heres Something out of left Field

I was under the impression the PLA had to give up all their private money earners as part of the reforms carried out a decade or so until I read this in the Economist. According to the Economist the PLA own :"Beijing Poly" one of the biggest fine art auction houses in China

Thinking theremust be a mistake somewhere I goggled "Beijing Poly" but a brief search revealed nothing, so can any people familiar with Beijing and this auction house, care to throw any light on the matter.

In late November ATG tested its online system in China for the first time. ATG had signed up four of China's leading auction houses: Huachen Auctions in Beijing, followed by Chongyuan Auctions in Shanghai, Beijing Poly, a subsidiary of the Chinese army,

what is the power plant currently being used? (6TD-2?)
The MBT-2000 is a prototype only project so there is no standard engine. It is designed to be adaptable for different engines, including the Challenger's CV-12 and the 6TD.

I have a question regarding helicopter engines: are piston engines more dust/sand resistant than turboshaft engines?

i didnt know there's a thread like this, and i think it's absolutely brilliant
now lemme start

1. why do black hawks and some military chopper fly with their doors open?
2. for little bird, those operators sitting on the benches on the side of the chopper--do they have seat belts or anything on the seats or they just sit there like that? dont they worry about falling off?
3. for US SOCOM operators, especially navy seals or us sf, when they are in woodland/grassy environment,
a.)what boots do they wear? brown combat boots or the black ones? i mean the recent years, as i've seen a lot of them wearing brown, but i'm not sure.
b.) are they wearing coyote brown or OD? if coyote brown, why brown in a woodland/jungle environment?
c.) are there new bdu issues for socoms in woodland areas? or remained the same woodland BDU?

4. what's the technical term for what gears an operator carry? loadout?
5. for DA missions, what does a sof fireteam carry with them in terms of equipment other than weaponry and ammo?

honestly i have a hell lot of questions, but first i want to give u guys a hugeass thank for this thread and all the help.

I believe what you are looking at is called Mirage G. Developed in the 1965 (October) and powered by a single Pratt and Whitney TF306.

It also resulted in the Mirage 2000/4000 in later stage.

Nose intake

Hello I am new to this forum and I have a question regarding jet engine intakes. Early jet fighters like the F-86 sabre and MIG-15 utilized nose intakes for their engines and Chinese fighters used them until J-8II came out. Is there a reason why later generation fighter planes stopped using nose intakes?

I believe that the main thing about why we have a solid cone nose was to enable larger and more powerful radar to be placed in there. Also to improve on aerodynamic property of the aircraft, because if a similarly large radar was to be place in other part of the aircraft, it will change its aerodynamic structure and so create more drag and could seriously hamper the aircraft agility and speed.
