Re: Military FAQ

The Tyoe 98 is a rocket launcher, that mean it only fire in a straight direction but it's computer assisted to help the gunner to aim more accuratly

Re: Military FAQ

it says it uses a laser range finder, my knowledge on laser stuff is not that good, so would the laser range finder cause teh early warning sytem of the tank to go off or it works differently from laser painting it by atgm??

Re: Military FAQ

I think that laser warning receiver can effectively detect the laser rangerfinder, but i have to check somehow, because if i remember well what they told me during one of my training course, laser receivers works on some specific frenquecies and for the laser rangerfinder will use a different frequency than the designator use for exemple...For exemple, most low-power laser (ie laser aiming system for firearm) will not be detected by laser warning system... But i'm not sure, i'll have to ask my platoon leader...

Re: Military FAQ

Ok im new here just a few things i wanted to know

1. Which military has the best training at the moment? i heard it was israel, i did think it was the united kingdom before

2. I also heard German engineering is really good, so basically do they have the best tanks?

3. The SAS are supposedly the finest SF in the world is this true? how do other SF compare to this?

4. What is the standard of training of PLA, and if you don't mind how they shape up against other countries.

Re: Military FAQ

Hum... that's hard to answer...

1. For the best training, it's hard to say that an country have the best training since each country have a different need on matter of defence, i can try to answer it later, since it's complex and i'll need time to think.

2.Yes, I do think that the Germans make the best tank, the latest Leo 2, the Leopard 2A6 is a marvel of german technlogy, 120mm L/55 main gun, well profiled turret, etc...

3.The SAS are the best SF in the world, it's a fact. We can tell how good are SF soldier by looking at theirs speed of action, their training (like aiming and fighting) but those don't really make difference between good and less good SF. The main different is in the way the soldier react, how tactically the soldier are able to think and make good decision fast. But there's not big difference between most special force of Western Country...

4. I can't answer this question... sorry...

I can give you more detail if you want, but i'll need some time to elaborate an answer, so just tell me if you want more info.

Re: Military FAQ

Yeah i would like more info on those questions if you can.

1. I have always felt, that due to the Russian economy being so rubbish that their military tech was rubbish too? Im new, but lurked around and saw quite a few topics and it seems that there are alot of exports between Russia and China, im just thinking does this mean China's military is really backward?

2. I am also wondering ever since WW2 does Japan and Germany, have or is allowed a military?

3. I would also like to know if it is true that the SA80 actually outperforms every other single rifle in the world (from wikipedia)

4. Have the US completed that stealth bomber?

5. Have the US managed to copy the harrier jet?

6. I have always wondered this but does Mongolia have a military, a half decent economy? or is owned by a different country?

7. What is the strength of the Indian armed forces? i was wondering this because under the British rule i assumed that they modernized India before they left.

8. I was wondering i was told that the spartans were excellent, and in one battle they eventually lost or something due to overwhelming numbers but they held this like place or something with a very small amount of men, just wanted to know any kind of example of how good they are really, do you know any?

Re: Military FAQ

1. not true. Thougth lacking in some important fields of thecnology, Soviets have managed to produce military hardware thats still par whit western, and in some acpect even better. Mostly, russians were capaple of producing reliable, robust and simple system that were easy to use and maintain, but did their task uncompromising.

Offcourse there is differences in operational philosophyes and to judge russian/soviet military system, one have to be familiar to soviet doctrines and way of thinking. I have operated lot whit russian systems most notably d-30, A 122mm howitzer

2. Both Germans was allowed to have military since 50's and Japanese as well, both due the western fear of Russians.

3. SA80 is good rifle but hampered whit numerous thecnical difficoultyes, so i would say, it isent anyway superior rifle.

4. yeas, B-2 in late 80's

5. No, they have produced it under licence and made some own derivates of it. US designation of it is AV-8A/B/C

6. Past there were large Soviet force in Mongolia and Mongolian own people's army consisted forces of three standard Soviet rifle divisions. They were equiped solely on older soviet weapons. They also had air force of one MiG-21 squardon and sinlge squardon of Mi-24 attack helicopters as well. Now adays these have largely detoriated

7. India is dominat military power in Asia. Almoust par whit China. it have mixedly equiped whit eastern and western systems, and bears intresting military heritage of british and russian influence. For More info, check

8. Spartans of pre-christian greek? More of a legend, so you would need a time machine to determ the bases of the mythes.

Re: Military FAQ

well i could have misspelled it...its a rare occaision, but sometimes even I make the mistake...
try but bharat into goolge, and check the first link that talks about defence things and you are in the rigth place.

1. USN offcourse has strongest carrier fleet, even stronger than combined fleet of all other users. Anyway,
France have one nuclear povered conventional carrier and is planning to build another one.
Russians have one conventional powered carier whit STOBAR system to launch modern jets.
India has one VSTOL carrier but is planning to build two indegenious STOBAR carriers as well as buy a Russian Admiral Gorsgov class carrier which is currently beeing refitted in Severodvinsk.
UK has three VSTOL carriers but is like wise producing two new carriers whit either conventional catabult, or STOBAR system to launch jets.
Italy have one operational and one VSTOL carrier running trials,
Spain has one operational and one VSTOL carrier under planning.
Thailand has one VSTOL carrier, but its curently not operational. And finaly, the sole remainer of latin american carrier fleets,
Brazil operates former french FOCH as conventional carrier.

China has the ex-Soviet VAryag under some sort of repair, but nowone knows whats the fate of the hulk is...

2. German armed forces are wery modern and strong by european standards, thougth they as well as all other european armed forces have been declining since the wall came down...but they lack all super-power weapons naturally.

3. Beats me:confused:
