A nonconventional tiltrotor configuration like this might be better suited.
the duel engines placed over the wing structure they are kept from enemy fire. the large wing offers plenty of space for weapons mounting. Although Garrow is looking to larger types I think Unmanned and two seat configuration would likely be optimum, as the size of the body, Rotor and wing structure become rather difficult to manage.

Very cool aircraft. This could operate off of small carriers and support navy infantry.

That's a possibility. The configuration also bares a resemblance to a Chinese concept models.

Re: New interceptors for the Argentine Air Force?

Well here we go. According to the FAA rumor mill the FAA has receiver 5 of the 20 third hand Mirage F-1s from Spain. The final 15 to arrive within 2014.

The big news is that an agreement has been reached with IAI to purchase 18 Kifr C-10. Apparently the deal will consist of 6 C-10 to be prepared by IAI and the remaining 12 to be assembled in FadeA factories.

This is not confirmed. As some as I have any verifiable reports I will let you all know.

Assembled ? Or refurbished ?

Refurbished to zero (or near zero) hours. There is reference to the C-10, but also the term Block 60 is used. I will provide some verification to all this. After all we went through on the Jordanian deal that ended up DOA

The Kfir Block 60 is an upgraded version of the C-10, The main feature of this variant is the use of AESA radar

Here is another example of over paying for older equipment. These aircraft are probably around $20US million plus

I think it's going to be hard for the FAA to find any used fighter aircraft for under $20 million around the world.

Depends . If they are really at 0 hours and guaranteed to serve another 20 years or 6000 hours ... You could compare it with JF-17 (Argentina considered this airplane) and slightly more expensive Mig-29 SMT . All of them have their pros and cons .

Can the Kfir out turn a JF-17 or Mig-29SMT?

If its such a good deal. I would rather take brand new airframe Shenyang J-8II fitted with AESA and modern glass cockpit since it longer legged with heavy payload. Plus its 2 engine ensure more safety.

I will say forget about upgrading those oldies. Whoever countries airmarshal approve those deals about oldies fitted with some fanciful radar shall be shot. Unless those plane comes in free.

Kfir could not out turn neither JF-17 nor Mig-29SMT , but it is faster then JF-17 and potentially could win in vertical combat . In BVR combat , AESA equipped Kfir is better then JF-17 and even slightly then Mig-29 equipped with Zhuk-ME , as both fighters have mechanically-steered radars (KLJ-7 and Zhuk-ME ) . Finally in ground-strike mode , Kfir could carry substantially more weapons then JF-17 and about the same as Mig-29SMT .

As for J-8II , I don't know if it is offered for export , at what price and what equipment could it carry . If you have the data , we could compare it with said fighters .
