Why is a supposedly democratic nation so butthurt about a joke?
Not sure why this reporter makes the assumption that 'more' must have died. The commander Qi (seriously injured, probably wasn't outright killed like the others because he was the commander) and maybe another soldier (died) were encircled by the Indian troops. The 2nd in command Chen (who died) and another soldier (who died) went to try to rescue the commander. They didn't succeed and were killed in the process. The rest of the small contingent of Chinese troops stayed on the favorable defensible position when vastly outnumbered. Only when reinforcements arrived were the bodies and commander Qi rescued.
I'm sure the Indian side also has video of the confrontation, but are not releasing it since it would be self-incriminating.

They should make a documentary based on actual footage and time the release with the Bollywood version.
Because the Chinese government does not tolerate rumors and lies amplification unlike the Indian government. These rumors and lies can easily propagate such that people cannot distinguish real from fake content. This is how the Chinese thinking works. The goverment wants to minimize entrophy and disorder.
It is the reason why media, internet, and free speech are controlled in China. Look how chaotic all the lies, disinformation are spreading in Indian media.
