The MKI is a decent platform. It just has the misfortune of being trapped in the Indian Air Force, which severely limits its effectiveness. The fact that the IAF splashed their own chopper because of bad IFF, or the fact that they didn't even calibrate their PGMs before attempting the Balakot strike, is an example of how not to utilize your assets. In the hands of a capable force, the MKI can be a real threat. Before Feb 27, even the Mig-Bison was considered capable because of its upgrades, especially its Israeli Jammer, which even impressed the USAF.
