Say there were 2 or 4 fatalities, had it been announced immediately would Indians not be even more upset and calling for war once they compare it to their 20? They see it as a score thing as if it's a soccer game.

Keeping it low profile gave India the option to claim whatever number of PLA killed they want to believe and then wrap the whole thing up without losing too much face. Of course we now know they didn't pick this option, but some people are just not rational and there's little you can do.

This kind of thinking only does the opposite and will never work with superpower-wanna-be. It's a sign of weakness and they'll come back again.
