For all the talk and posturing within the Chinese and Indian media, there seems to be little in the way of official political or military maneuvers from either country. Most of the conflict is played out over official channels of communication and/or social media rather than an actual battlefield. Both nations know the cost of a regional war and thus are willing to stay put in hopes of long-term stability.
By contrast, India and Pakistan frequently engage in artillery exchanges and shootouts that result in real casualties. A rock fight between patrolling Indian & Chinese troops is hardly an indication that India is "radicalized".
I was speaking about the people of India and the proliferating radical attitudes. The faith placed into a halfwit demagogue like Modi and the increasing support for his offered "solutions" which are more or less chauvinistic attitudes and increased nationalism. It's all more an effort in denial and blame shifting than actually solving problems. Rather than find real solutions to the Muslim Hindu divide, he turns old mosques into Hindu temples and uses the media to play this sort of move up like "WE'RE WINNING AND HAVE BALLLLLLLS!" lol it's actually all worse than Trump level demagoguery. When it comes to real problems, he has no solutions and often makes things worse.
So yeah the militaries are at the moment behaving. Well India's is at the moment and I say India only because they may be the ones instigating something new and since China's already defused IA's prior aggression along the LAC with recent moves, I don't see the PLA doing anything aggressive.
I sincerely feel that Indian people have become increasingly radicalised by BJP/RSS politics and narratives. This makes them less predictable and reasonable. I have never seen Chinese hotel owners ban Indians, Chinese people attack Indians on the streets in China, Chinese people burn effigies of Modi or the Indian flag, although I think all that is justified for Chinese people (except attacking individuals). Or even Chinese retaliating India's pathetic "trade war" lol. BTW their trade war is over and they've already stopped trying. It hasn't even been a few months and the numbers seem to show no real difference. Contrast this with Indian behaviour. They're calling for the murder and rape of Chinese people non-stop, constantly slandering Chinese and making up lies, spreading it all over the internet, and feel righteous about it all. Absolute scum. Chinese people have done nothing of significance and few even know about the conflict. So no it isn't social media battles. Chinese don't really care and only if you go looking for these discussions on Chinese boards, you'd find some people talking about it but usually quite sensible and rather peaceful tones dominate the conversations. The few chauvinists you'd find are such a small proportion of Chinese population it makes me feel uneasy. Typical Chinese passivity.
The only official material Chinese side is portraying is just showing high altitude army exercises. Military commentators may have recently discussed more Indian military topics but that's about it. It does not compare to Indian media attention and noise levels. This Ladakh conflict dominates Indian conversations at almost every level. Daily reports and media attention on this and all their politicians and military/ex military have some daily post about it. Meanwhile you'd have to go looking for the equivalent in Chinese conversations and they are far and few between.
