How much did DRDO spend to develop this piece of revolutionary technology?
Been in R&D for 10 years. Planning began 30 years ago roughly. Was rejected constantly by IA because of highly inconsistent quality and just didn't suit the terrain, was also too heavy. Total program cost nearing $1B USD until finally pressured by Modi to be accepted. At least the Indian army heroes could make do with iron bars and riot gear since May 2020. In all honesty, the IA considers their previous melee weapons to be superior but India is a "meee tuuu!" country after all so accusations of PLA using nail studded steel reo (which was a photo taken by Indians without context) means Indians should have nail/barbed wire melee weapons too right.
In all seriousness, that photo the Indians used which claimed the PLA used barbed wire wrapped steel bars is very, VERY suspect.
How come the Indians could take a photo of a PLA "weapon" used that night but fail to take a single other photo??
How come just one photo of that "PLA weapon" without some more shots from different angles and maybe just one with the "weapon" in the context - geographic setting.
The soil looks like the photo was taken somewhere on an Indian street. It's flat and small grained and a lighter colour. The soil at Galwan where the confrontation took place is very wet, full of huge rocks and boulders, and smallest grain soil is still a few centimeters in diameter and light grey to dark grey in colour. Also very uneven terrain.
hmmmmmmm could the proven career liars have stuck together some steel bars and wrapped barbed wire around it and took a photo for BBC?
