NK has the capacity to do serious damages, and it has the will to do it, it has a long track record on that, make sure you are ready to face the consequence if you are about to initiate hostality.

Fatty Kim may have some screws loose up there but I don't think he is suicidal. Even he must know any actual shooting on his part will culminate in the destruction of his regime if not his own life and his family's nevermind the entire country. Last I check he has a wife and daughter and while the rest of Korea may not have access to world news even he must know what happened to folks like Saddam, OBL, Ghadafi etc to name a few.

I'm beginning to wonder if he is seeking some sort of an out. I mean this guy grew up in a very sheltered lifestyle and spent his most formative years living in Western Europe, going to the most exclusive schools there and living a lavished lifestyle there. Then his dad suddenly dies and he is thrust into a position he may not really want to be in. Perhaps by making all this ruckus, in his own distorted mind he is thinking that some sort of a deal can be cut where he can relinquish his position and live somewhere else as some reclusive billionaire BUT achieving it by also appearing as some sort of a strong anti western hero who stood up against the mighty and tyrannical US to the eyes of the average N Korean to preserve his legacy and his family's.

While he maybe the ruler of NK I'm sure his life is very regimented and scripted. He is probably being watch 24/7 by people closest to him.. it's not easy for him to secretly meet some spies/CIA types etc to discuss his intentions nor can he just hope on a plane and say see ya! w/o totally destroying his credibility. Unlike 99.9% of N Koreans he is most definitely NOT brainwashed. Crazy maybe but not brainwashed.

If he hates Americans as much as people think he does he MOST definitely won't meet someone like Dennis Rodman and his entourage of all people.

UAM = Guam-Andersen AFB

Tanker drag to BAB = KC 135s of 100th Air Refueling Wing from Beale AFB

At full military power Guam is less than 2 hrs from North Korea.

Few people realize that how much of a dangerous situation China is in. Even though they tested the midcourse interception missile, HQ-26, and the HQ-8, they are not deployed. This means that besides HQ-9s, China is completely open to attack. North Korea has the ability to take out China's major cities in the East and they cannot allow that. It would make sense if China herself stationed her Type 052C near North Korea. Or maybe rush Type 052D into service. The PLA probably has some pre production midcourse missiles ready just in case.

I seriously seriously doubt NK is going to launch any nukes at anyone let alone at China.

Most feel that they still have yet to reach the size for a warhead, but one could still be loaded on one of those Romeo class subs the Chinese helped the North Koreans build. Of course most doubt China being on Kim's hit list besides even if they were with so many anti missile batterys if if did pop one of at China I an pretty sure it would not get any cities on the coast if if aimmed over land that is another matter.

Maybe not. But there can absolutely no risk. The United States is an ocean away and yet they are actively preparing.

When did China ever deploy HQ-9 or its midcourse interception missile batteries near North Korea? China's HQ-26 and HQ-8 are still being tested. China's rumored HQ-19 is being deployed on the Indian border, not North Korea. China is at a huge military disadvantage here.

American involment is based on a lot of factors including the the fact that most agree at least three US states Alaska, Hawaii and parts of California, a number of US territorys at least what half a dozen allied states with mutual defence treatys are all in range of known North Korean missiles.

As crazy as NK is, it will not attack China. Doing so means instant regime change and certain death to Kim and his cohorts.

If NK poked SK, Japan or America, the threat NK artillery poses to Seoul and other civilian population centres near the DMZ might stay their hand, China has no such limitations. In addition, in the event of war with SK and America, Kim and his family and friends might still have the last resort of escaping to China if all else fails. If its the PLA after them, there is no way anyone else would take them other than arrest them and types them.
