Re: JH-7/JH-7A Thread

Showing JH-7A no.11260, took part in the 60th founding anniversary of the PRC.

1999 august 23, JH-7A was approved to be developed from the original JH-7 by keeping the same overall aerodynamic and internal structure layout.
It improved electronic fire control system, added more hardpoints and load capacity, and made compatible with new precision air-air and air-ground munitions.

The single ventral fin was replaced with twin composite ventral fins. And the wing fences removed.

2002/3/30 first JH-7 completed assembly and handed over for test flight. Test flight was successful on July 11th.

You know that not everywhere with mountains in the background is Tibet, right?

Considering that the JH7 is primarily a strike aircraft, it would make no sense to base them all the way in Tibet.

Any idea whether China is considering giving the JH-7 a more powerful engine? This is a very good fighter-bomber and further upgrades could go a long way for both PLAAF and PLANAF!!

Not sure about upgrading existing JH7, but they're getting new upgraded JH7B.
