Re: JH-7/JH-7A Thread

Is this regiment composed only with female pilot?

The group shot only has 6 of them, so no.

Female pilots are still very new and very much a rarity in the PLAAF, even if they had enough female pilots to crew an entire regiment, I very much doubt there will be enough (if any) female pilots senior enough to command a fighter regiment.

It will be a while yet before the PLAAF is actually able to field an all female fighter regiment, and there is no reason that they would want to do that even if they could.

Female PLAAF pilots are NOT new; first women pilots were trained in 1951, flying transports and utility planes. There were a total of 328 women pilots served the PLAAF in the last 60 years, including a major general.

Female combat aircraft pilots are indeed new and rare. The first nine of them graduated from flight academy in early 2009.

Re: JH-7/JH-7A Thread

although this thing has some problems. not really built for high-g manuevers, (lost in exercise etc), the designer really tried to squeeze out every bit of payload-range.

Where these high-g maneuvers at high altitude, or where they high-g at low altitude for nap of the earth attacks?

the airframe is built for 6.5 Gs normal + factor of saftey If I remember correctly.

most "accidents" that is not related to navigation erros occurs at low altitudes. There is that one in airshow and one lost in the joint Chinese-Russian exercise. both were low level manuever flights.

originally it was designed as a gas bag to launch YJ-missiles at stand offs. now it is pressed into CAS/attack aviation regiments.

Some translation??

It shows the original 084 flying prototype of the JH-7. And its test pilot. In july 8th 1991 during a test flight the plane started leaking fuel. The test pilot was able to land the plane safely. A check identified a leaking fuel pipe and the problem was corrected. The prototype later took part in a 1999 film about the plane.
