Re: JH-7/JH-7A Thread

Well, the US tested and produced one stealth platform before embarking on parallel developments. It's just a bit surprising that China has enough confidence to attempt multiple at once without that bedrock. More importantly though, I was talking about the reaction of other countries like the US. Unless they have better intelligence than us (which is a good possibility), the fact that a second platform was being developed will be sending off alarms to defence experts across the world.

But the US military also have alot more other commitments compared to the PLA. They could have done alot of other things with all that money thrown into Iraq and Af. during the last 10 years.

PUPU, a big shrimp on CJDBY and FY, said that the picture is not a JH-7B. Perhaps Blitzco is right about the completely new design?

Was his implication that the aircraft itself wasn't a "JH-7B" and was rather a new design or that the picture itself wasn't real? o_O

The picture we have correlates quite closely to this well known model, cockpit wise.

If it turns out this thing is real then chances are any picture of a chinese or PLA member of authority looking at a model, we will probably see in a few years ^^

His implication is that the picture is real but the JH-7B probably doesn't look anything like this. According to him the JH-7B will update the avionics and radar but there won't be any major changes to the airframe.

Pupu thinks that the plane may be a stealth, double seater version of JF-17 (probably too big for a JF-17 though), JH-7 C or D, or maybe a new design by Chengdu all together. He said that nothing is impossible after the J-20.

I love this ironic role reversal. Over at Key Publishing Forum, they're saying this is the US FA-XX.

Interesting, and I think that makes sense too. I wonder where the whole JH-7B designation came from.

"Nothing is impossible after the J-20" -- I like that. Someone should put it on a shirt.

I wonder if this plane is even related to the JH-7, if it was designed or manufactured by XAC at all. Interesting times.
