few years ago, JDW reveal that the Russian has developed small active radar seeker small enough to fitted in SRAAM such as Aphid IRAAM.possible that the new PLAAF SRAAM technology may have russian input.
I came across an extract from Jane's commenting about Chinas very latest AAMs,
some of which they've never seen before.They mentioned some new missiles were carried on a 3 shot plyon system with the SD-10, but appeared to be surprised that a JH-7a strike aircraft is being used as the platform for such sophisticated AAMs.
Does this mean the west does'nt really rate the JH7A?
They also suggested that the new missiles lack a infra red seeker, suggesting they might be active radar guided.
Which brings me to my second question, is active radar better than a infra red seeker system
