Filtering out the noise in this article, the following two statements are the premise and conclusion:
  • "The sanctions prevent Rosoboronexport from doing US dollar transactions. So, there are payment issues which the two governments and the concerned banks have not sorted out, sources said."
  • "As a way out, the PAF and the China National Aero-Technology Import and Export Corporation or CATIC are trying to replace the Russian RD-93 engine with a Chinese version."
This is kind of ridiculous, as if the only way to sort out an alleged accounting issue is to switch the entire engine. Whatever currency related issues may be caused by the sanctions on Russia, it would be easier to sort them out by switching currencies instead. Pak/China/Russia are already working on getting rid of the dollar in their trading, so it doesn't make much sense why currency sanctions would cause such issues at this point.

SD-10 and AIM120C, are they both blast fragmentation warhead or one could be continuous rod?

Its rare for fighter AAMs to use continuous rod, that is generally only found on MANPADs, and is intended to allow the small warheads of MANPADs to be able to punch through the armour of attack helicopters and dedicated CAS jets.

Conventional AAMs and SAMs have a sufficiently big warhead that they can use HE frag and still have a high kill probability even against armour targets, so there is little benefit to using continuous rod over HE owing to the much greater spread cone of HE frag, and hence hit probability.

Came across an Article on Sina (i normally take that with a grain of salt normally). The article is about JF17 scoring 2:0 against Eurofighter in Gulf Shield 2018, and went on to say during 2019 Balakot engagement, the theory was the AIM120C Indian side found was fired by F16 against Su30mkis, which were dodged by MKIs( using Israel made EW pods.) The Mig 21 was actually brought down by SD10 fired by JF17, the photos of the wreckage shows pattern of HE frag shrapnel damages. Oddly the author mentioned AIM120C being continuous rod.
He went on to say Rafale's Aesa still based on GaA technology while JF17's is based on GaN (didnt mention Block 2 or 3). So i was wondering i could debunk some of the claims.

Don’t know about Gulf Shield but the Balakot story is bull. Pakistan confirmed that the kill was made by F-16. If the JF-17 made the kill they would’ve not wasted a perfect marketing opportunity.

Do they ever release the results of J-10 vs JF-17 results at Shaheen? Like they did for Su27 vs Gripen at that Thailand exercise (name eludes me)
