C802 is an Anti-Ship supersonic cruise missile
C802s have always been subsonic.
The IAF's excessive focus on platforms rather than sensors and weapon systems was evident during the Kargil conflict with Pakistan two decades ago. “The IAF fulfilled the expectations only after it made emergency purchases of Laser-Guided Bombs and targeting pods,” Thakur said.“The technical advantage gained by the IAF through the acquisition of the Rafale would be transient because it would be based largely on the weapon systems and sensors of the Rafale,” Thakur said.
“The PL-15 and the range of that missile, we’ve got to be able to out-stick that missile,” US Air Force’s Command chief had said in 2015.Herbert J. Carlisle, the then head of the US Air Force’s combat command, was quoted by Flight Global as saying that outmatching the Chinese PL-15 air-to-air missile in particular is an “exceedingly high priority”.
The Indian Air Force such as R-27, R-73 very shortly after Balakot strike.“IAF allowed itself to be outgunned by focusing on platform acquisitions, rather than weapon system and sensor upgrades. With sufficient military foresight, the IAF could have armed its Su-30MKI with longer range air-to-air missiles acquired from Russia rather than continuing to rely on the lesser ranged missile ordered years ago from Ukraine,” IAF veteran Thakur asserted.
Hmmm... a 'stealthy' air frame... PL-15s... and an IRST (implied integrated)... I also heard it has an anti-gravity engine. The IAF is gonna have its hands full when it faces our new Block 'UFO' Thunders.
I do hope the PL-15s and IRST (externally equipped at least) are in the pipeline. If they are, this bird is gonna be punching way above its weight.
PL-15 have to be in the pipeline otherwise balance will be tilted too much in the favour of IAF.Hmmm... a 'stealthy' air frame... PL-15s... and an IRST (implied integrated)... Although there is no official confirmation, I think it is highly likely that the PAF will acquire PL-15s because they can't take advantage of KL-7A's higher range if they don't.
I hope so, but until there's an official confirmation (or some leaked picture of a PL-15 mounted on the prototype) such articles are pure conjecture. It's just annoying that people have just taken it for granted that the Block III will have the PL-15... just like they claimed that it would have a new engine, CFTs, integral IRST etc... Just wait for confirmation before celebrating!! lolz
