Guys ... please help me out: Either I missed something (what indeed could be) or I beg you to calm down ... we've seen "Indonesian President checking out the JF17" and this fact is followed by an opinion that the JF-17 would be "ideal fighters for Indonesian Air Force" ... but then right in the second reply it is assumed "Indonesia’s order is larger at 36 aircraft" !!!

As far as I know we know nothing confirmed, we have only rumours - like so many others thru all the years and please let us talk about an increase in production rate only AFTER the ink is dry.

Pardon to nit-pick, but if you read closely I'm surely jumping on the waggon with each Chinese rumour, BUT I always try to add the note that it is "likely, maybe, allegedly, reportedly or based on a rumour", whereas in your case a president was spotted in an airplane and some are already taken a signed and confirmed contract for granted, they are spinning around on increased production rates without a single word that nothing is confirmed.

If I missed to add that note sometimes I beg your pardon, but that does not make an Indonesian purchase more likely.

Do we want to go round in circles like the rumour with FC-31 V3 optimised for Naval role ?

Again with these things you can take it or leave it time will tell but what you cannot do is disconnect rumours from a already very successful project which has ink dry on 2 international orders

Calm down ... and let me ask another question first: How do we know that there is a deal anyway since you seem to be so sure???

Come on.. we have a president in an airplane !! That's all.
If each and every type was bought only since a politician sat in an aircraft, industry would be happy.

Again and I would be happy if there is a deal but what else gives you the conclusion that ...

1. there is a deal at all?
2. that the alleged number is 36??

I don't understand why you are so much offensive? It's a plain and simple question and even more a legit one.
So please calm down and either given an answer + explanation or if you cannot, then you MUST accept that I am (and maybe others too) are not that sure that there is a deal and then there's no reason to be offensive!?

At least a quick search at Google on my own only results in a report at the PDF (IMO far from credible as a confirmation) and a video (the same as posted above); nothing more.

And here as a PS: these two issues are irrelevant to each other. I never said it is NOT a successful project nor did I slammed it in any other way. But a successful project - even if 2 customers are not really so much an export success ! - alone does not make a signed deal in this special case.

So I don’t know how else to put it it’s nothing but rumours but rumours from inside PAC on social media, same rumours that gives me photos of inside PAC that you also will never find on google, twitter or PDF, does it mean they are all fake ? Just because you cannot find them ?

Again to repeat Indonesia visited, they were shown the plane they showed interest and requirement will be 36 aircraft if it goes ahead

Here you go again, saying one thing then slipping in another while you can

So what you want to see 20 export orders to constitute a success ?

No one here is trying to convince you least of them me

If JF17 had no export orders I would actually maybe on a bad day get a faint idea of where you are coming from

But under these circumstances I clearly don’t

Every time something related you JF17 happens you want concrete proof you do not take into geopolitical issues or history, you like to believe only what your eyes can see and ears can hear

I do not think you are going to get the answer you want to hear because world is wider than that

I think we all need to take a breath.

Asking if there is a source for something is very different from insisting something cannot be treated as possible without a source.

Deino is just asking the obvious question of whether there is an officially signed order or not. He is making no judgements on the likelihood of an order, never mind how successful the JF17 is, and is only pointing out that unless there is confirmation that a deal has been signed, such a deal could not be treated as a factual reality, which is just common sense.

Rumours suggesting that Azerbaijan is close to signing on the dotted line for 24 x JF17

Indonesia’s order is larger at 36 aircraft

That’s 60 units at full production at PAC that would take 2 years or more to clear putting back deliverys for PAF and even Block 3

If PAC builds 30 keeps 16 for itself and 14 for export still take over 4 years to fulfill order

Either way 2018 is going to be another bumper year for JF17

Let’s hope we see more details on JF17 Block 3

That's good news! Let's hope these orders materialize and PAC ramps up production. The success in sales of JF-17 Thunder is testimony to the hard work of CAC and PAC.
