What nonsense is this? Who does India think it is telling a sovereign country what it can and cannot buy?

PLAWolf,
this is nothing new, just politics as usual, you should check out the government cables in WikiLeaks, there are hundreds of messages of a similar level of "backroom gossip/bargaining"
You'd be amazed at the level of unseen dirty deals that go on

You are behind the times. India has been blockading Nepal (food, fuel and other essential supplies) for months now because it doesn't like Nepal's new constitution

I freely admit I hold little interest in what India does.

Although this is another case in point to highlight the western media's infamous bias.

Notice the massive amount of articles on Chinese "bullying" and "assertiveness", usually with scant/no actual evidence, twisting of facts and inversions of logic and reason against the near silence of the western media on these examples of actual bullying and assertiveness by the developing world's poster boy of western norms and values.

OT of course, this is all about politics ... :(
Ambassador Bhadrakumar complained about the dumbness of the South Block wrt this Nepal matter and wrt Pakistan. Unfortunately, or not, it is not really a matter concerning the aircraft.

thanks for the explanation MastanKhan. i didn't know Egypt's F-16's are not BVR capable. now it makes perfect sense and the JF-17 seems like a great fighter for Egypt and since they need up to 200, they should go for the full package with a complete production line. they must like what they saw at PAC and want one for themselves.

Hi,

As one active air force officer not of a pakistani or egyptian origin revealed somewhere that the egyptian F16's are basically toothless----( which he meant to say that they are useless for the arena that they were purchased to be used in---the enemy already has the antidote ).

What I am thinking is that egypt will get the assembly plant and manufacturing options---if they go for the aircraft---because the numbers procured might be high---and it looks like it will be BLK3 and up.
