Zahid, do you know how many Blk II units PAF intends on purchasing before the Blk III starts?

50 units of Block II are intended for PAF. Incidentally Block II is the first export offering as well. The production run could go higher than 50 provided there are export orders.

Tough one but I will have a go

Definitely Kamra, see that wall which is behind the aircraft that surrounds the JF-17 factory and also MRF so certainly it's Kamra and it's nearby the factory

However I am almost 100% that is Block I by the outline of the body

So I would say, Kamra facility has a JF-17 Block I in yellow primer which is undergoing some sort of tests and evaluation judging by the white vans and vehicles, those vehicles usually house the test equipment and monitors which gather data and information from the aircraft and various compartments

So not a Block II

Is JF-17 really certified with all those weapons , especially with H-4 JSOW and Ra'ad ? Or these are only plans for Block II ?

Both Block I and Block II will carry all of the above plus CM-400AKG

Also thing to note is that PAF has said they will enter Block II in mid-2014 and that Block III will enter in 2016 and we know they will build 50 Block II units

Does this mean they will build 25 units per year? If so that's a huge rate, they built 16 x Block I in 2010 so I don't doubt they could manage 25 to 30 per year as they have stated before

Anyhow something to look out for how quickly they will produce the Block II, I guess they will replace the F7 Sqaudrons

Asif, I believe we have the capability to produce more than 20 air craft per year. But that would happen only if we have export orders, so that the program sustains some of its costs through export earnings. Scaling up production should not be a problem provided the financial situation supports it. The rate of production was low because of financial reasons. With our economy doing a little bit better (government figures), we could do better next year onwards.
