I think that the picture in the background is just artwork. It looks too much like the supposed "stealth FC-1" that we've been hearing about on the internet. Maybe the editor just got lazy and snatched pictures from internet forums (or worse, by baiduing them) ;D.
Just because CCTV is state run doesn't necessarily mean they have inside info. Mostly, the journalists and editors are just as clueless as we are. That's why whenever you see a story from Xinhua about the military, you can't necessarily accept it as fact. It really has to come from a military official or the arms company itself.
