Thank you Mr SamuraiBlue, in fact Tsuruga is Maizuru new homeport for Hyuga soon, very soon replace a Shirane but only in this Flotilla because ships homeport and combats units in the Japan navy are not always in the same location/city, only in the world do it and for found more really difficult !

This month 2 new important ships, Izumo and the 6th Soryu almost always in March Navy get new units, amusing.

Sorry I mistakenly read Maizuru as Tsuruga.
Although Mizuru and Tsuruga are close Mizuru is in Kyoto prefecture while Tsuruga is in Fukui.
Maizuru Naval port has been the key port on of the Japan sea from 1889 where Admiral Togo was the first commander appointed.

Something I was reminded while watching Youtube.
The famous speech made by Shigeru Yoshida the first Prime Minister after the war at the graduation ceremony to the first graduates of National Defense Academy of Japan in 1958.

君達は自衛隊在職中、決して国民から感謝されたり、 歓迎されることなく自衛隊を終わるかもしれない。 きっと非難とか誹謗ばかりの一生かもしれない。御苦労だと思う。 しかし、自衛隊が国民から歓迎されちやほやされる事態とは、 外国から攻撃されて国家存亡の時とか、災害派遣の時とか、国民が困窮し国家が混乱に直面している時だけなのだ。 言葉を換えれば、君達が日陰者である時のほうが、国民や日本は幸せなのだ。 どうか、耐えてもらいたい。

In other words it is better for all of you to be treated as outcast for the prosperity of Japan.

Her sister DDH-184 no named right now in service for 2017 ofc in march, replace the second and last Shirane, a small difference in size...

Talk about a top tier navy talk about the JMSDF

With the Osumi. Hyuga and Izumo class the flat deck operations of the JMSDF is about to be hugely advanced

Seeing a surface task force with those Atago or Kongo class DDG would be a awesome sight

Many European nations would only dream of such ships not to mention the extremely high standard of sailors
