LOL...Tom Clancy is losing it nowadays. His latest book (Against All Enemies) is about Taliban and Mexican drug Cartel teaming up to destroy America. Tell me if that isn't lame.

That is infinitely more plausible than North Korea taking over Asia and eventually, America. What I find hilarious is that this concept happened not once but twice.

Feng Bu Bei, one of the premier J-20 amateur photographers from CD, confirmed that the J-20 took to the sky again yesterday (30th flight) and maneuvered once more. Hopefully someone took better videos this time.

Posted by motif at CMF.

Chongqing gets attacked by aliens. J-20s turn into transformers. Actually more like Macross. Need I say more?

The only one destroying America is America itself.

With regards to the JH-20 discussion, if J-20 requires that extensive modification to be turned into a striker, then there is no doubt that such modification will include internal works. A striker will very much have to be a new plane designed from scratch.

2011年8月16日的歼-20、太行版歼-10B公开测试前的地面准备

Some Intel analyze (I am not sure am I leak anything which not supposed to, or not)

It appears the "usual" fence climbing party, who supplied the world with "semi-official leak" level of quality of intels - the camera men - in this particular video clip, one is talking to another, AS IF they are some "Big Shrimp", and they mixed up the 4th & 5th gen fighter definition. (specificlly, J-20 being 4th gen, while F-22 being 5th gen, J-20 is one generation behind)

So, if not all, a huge chunk of intels leaked to Internet, are REALLY non-propaganda, non-misleading-intentioned, BYSTANDER SECURITY BREACHES, who virtually "took shots at China's (supposed) secrets, and leave without tea."

I don't bother the "no tea provided" part, I bother the "(maybe) they took the shots, and the security measures didn't even aware their present" part.

The extent of the internal reworking will be a big determination of whether it is effective or not though. However, designs these days tend to be modular enough for modification purposes.

I doubt that Chinese authorities don't know by now that people are taking pictures while dodging security. It seems the leaking is pretty intentional. It could be how they get away with demands for even greater transparency (like capabilities). (Whetting the appetite of foreign intelligence, so to speak).

I agree. If they want to be really strict about it then they would've arrested the people taking photos/videos. The guy who took videos of the J-15 was actually invited over for tea at the SAC.

I think the test pilot knows that he is popular amongst the wall climbers. There was a report during the second flight that he flapped the control surfaces to "say hello" to them when he flew overhead. The fact that they did more turns/rolls on the 29th and 30th flight, over the city, means that they kinda want to display the plane's capabilities.

F-35 tries to be modular, but it isn't turning out well.

There are a lot of variables to the F-35's cost and scheduling overruns. In terms of modularity, it is the attempt to make one general air frame fulfill too many roles, as opposed to having parts sharing for a more diversified set of air frames that is contributing to the F-35's problems.
