can someone describe what kind of forum is it? Biased? worth reading? Pro-west or pro-russia, surely can't be both.

If you like informative reading shrouded in petty nationalism from certain countries. IMO, yes highly pro-Western so there's a lot of butt-kissing over there from these trolls and they tend to get a pass and only becomes a problem when the other side decides to fire back. The mods when they're around like to crack the whip but when they seem to take a vacation, the natiionalism burst from the seams.
Cheers, had a quick look. Not much activity in the j-20 thread and alot of previous snide comments. Pak-fa and indian related stuff in a pro-west forum seem popular for some reason. Won't bother with it then, as i'm not interested in those, will just stick with this forum.
At first, when i read 1 of Kopp's paper, i thought he works for the plaaf because he was basically praising the J-20 to the roof, in stark comparison to other western analysts. But later on, i realized he just really hates the jsf and uses the j-20 to bash it. Of course, the points he made could all be true, i'm no expert.
You can bet the PLAAF, and the PLA to a larger extent would never praise any of their weapons through the roof unless they were trying to export it. Not their style, they like to make their enemies underestimate their real potential.

He's been a big advocate for the F-22. So you can't really take him for all the positive things he says about the J-20 either because he's angling for Australia to get F-22s which the US won't export.
yeah, i'm familiar with the understated style of the chinese. It was more a tongue in cheek comment

i can see the obvious mancrush for raptor and the disdain for the JSF and Superhornets in his papers, no wonder he is bigging up the J-20. i do know now that there is no chance kopp is pro-PLAAF. He sees them as the antagnist in an imaginary scenario that was in his paper iirc.
