Re: J-20 The New Generation Fighter IV

Previous thread was here
http://www.sinodefenceforum.com/air-force/j-20-new-generation-fighter-iii-37-5600.html#post156107

Not sure why it was closed exactly, but it already had ~40 pages so ending it there would be better than ending it at ~200 like thread 2.

Anyway continuing on... Does anyone else think that they might have a J-20 flying somewhere else around about now? They haven't had a flight test for near a month and I feel the flight hours they would've accumulated over the last six months isn't as much as it should be (based on the flights we know of).

possibly something went wrong with the prototype and then it got grounded?

Sorry but I think I might've accidentally closed it when I tried to show my quotes. I will merge threads ASAP.

The more likely explanation is that the people who took photos at CJDBY went home during the break. Some of them went back to Chengdu recently.

So there is a likelihood the aircraft could have flown a number of times without everyone knowing?

Hmm looks like we need to pay someone to have a permanent post over there.

There are a lot of people there at Chengdu but not very many die hard military fans who would risk tea drinking or staying out under the summer sun for hours at time to wait for the plane. Many times people could hear the engines but won't bother going out to see whether the plane flew or not.

Maybe this way the authorities can tell the normal fans apart from those who has continued interest in the plane. I'm sure there would be observers for other national agencies.

Japan keeps a close watch on china military developments.

Speaking of "tea dreaking", or closer to the original newly invented idiom, "getting invited for tea", there's probably a need for someone to put together a dictionary of all this funny stuff: Big shrimp, wall-climbing gang, summer vacation gang, 国妈, 中秋,etc. etc... :)
