J-20 could prove to be to expensive for PAF, second, China will never allow J-20 into export market.

Hehe... Does this remark remind anyone of the exact ones made about the J-10's export potential only a couple of years ago?

Things go so fast these days that we simply can't predict what will happen next. Who knows, the J-20 might well become, as predicted or implied by some, the proverbial cabbage-priced commodity in the arms market in the not-too-distant future...

Except we only heard news of J-10 being potentially exported after 1) the J-10B came out, and 2) the J-20 maturing. I don't think many people said never ever, just not while the J-10 was China's cream of the crop.

Exactly what I meant: We don't know what' may be revealed after the J-20 and how soon (just as in the case of J-10 a couple of years ago.... actually, we did know J-XX then).

If there will be things equally good or better and soon enough, we probably will be able to see the J-20 on the table for export, no longer than the time J-10 took to become exportable.

Not to be a naysayer but I doubt anything will top the J-20 coming out of China for at least a decade.

Hehe, I'm no blind optimist, either. But in the beginning of the revelation of the J-20, there was something that gave me the impression that either the J-20 wasn't the one or there was a parallel development going on... not sure if it was the SAC one that's being discussed lately. So I''m open to that possibility.

SAC's entry would be underwhelming for the audiences here.

I will not be surprised if SAC's project is aiming for a junior, less cutting edge, cheaper, more numerous, and less a2a midsized partner for J-20.

But, this would be a good choice to induct into PAF. with good awacs support that thing would be a handfull (especially if it can supercruise and has good frontal stealth) for whatever IAF decide to purchase in its MMRCA,... the entrantss (EF, Raf) looks decidely last generation.

not to mention the psychological effects.

J-20 The New Generation Fighter IV

Previous thread was here
http://www.sinodefenceforum.com/air-force/j-20-new-generation-fighter-iii-37-5600.html#post156107

Not sure why it was closed exactly, but it already had ~40 pages so ending it there would be better than ending it at ~200 like thread 2.

Anyway continuing on... Does anyone else think that they might have a J-20 flying somewhere else around about now? They haven't had a flight test for near a month and I feel the flight hours they would've accumulated over the last six months isn't as much as it should be (based on the flights we know of).
