Is there a dense crowd of people standing in front of the aircraft? If so, this has not happened since long time ago when lots of VIP's were visiting 2001. And if so, why so many people standing there staring at it? A significantly different version of it that warrants a group visit again?

Lt. Col Max Moga dropped in for tea, his Raptor is in the visiting VIP hanger, he's shootin the breeze with the tall man!

Hmm thing is the designation comes "under" the cockpit quite a bit too, and I can only clearly see the panel rear of the nose removed.

That is to say, part of the designation should be visible under the ladder.

---

It's so blurry even if there was a number there we couldn't clearly tell anyway, I think.

Tbh I don't even know why we bother with these "hot off the press" predictions of the plane's detailed parts haha. Just wait for clearer pics, which will surely arise within either a few hours or days. I suppose it's just part of the fun of PLA watching.

You know as well as I do why we bother with these grainy pictures, we're all still little boys at Christmas, I "finally acquired a light green camo, mk IV Spitfire, made by Cox. I recieved this same aeroplane for Christmas 1966, I am leaving the gear off of it, and going to hang it up in our bedroom when I get enough courage" the light green camo Cox Spitfire is the prettiest of all the cox flying models and is particularly gorgeous with the gear up, and yes I am spoiled and yes I was dying to get off the Liaoning, and get back to the J-20, I always save this thread for desert and open it last, soooooo, is it 2003, or aint it? Ok PLAAF, the PLAN has shared their CV with the faithfull , don't we on the J-20 thread deserve the same consideration? Ya don't wan't those Navy guys hogging all the attention, and the Mullah? So lets get 2003 out of the dark hangar? before I spread and internet rumor that you have actually reverse engineered a Raptor, and I know you have anyway.

I don't think that's a dense crowd. There maybe some people on the ground but that to me looks like the barbed or razor wire fence out of focus playing tricks.

As suspected some of those pics come from video. It starts about at the 1:10 mark. I love the super Chinese man can drag a J-20 all by himself.

Well, this is proof of the earlier theory about the chinese being cybernetic organisms, living tissue over metal skeleton. The folks from the Pentagon will be *** bricks now.:p

Anyway, back to the mighty J-20. Is this video now proof that this is indeed 2003 beyond any doubt?

Also, i've read recently that according to Jane's there are four J-20 of which only two ( will?) take part in trials (2001 and 2002). Could they be mistaken or misinterpreted what they've heard , and it actually meens there are indeed four J-20s, with two flying now, with the other two to follow? If this is 2003 , makes perfect sense. There's no doubt though that there must be some static airframes too , perhaps one or two.

These days Jane's sources are usually no better, and often times worse than what we get on the forums.

Is it just me, or do the engines look bigger on 2003?

It's scary how fas the CAC is moving with the development of prototypes! One beautiful looking bird...

Well, I was just going to post my new finding as to the J-2003 or whatever it is and I saw this post of yours... Now my finding is that this new bird's rear section (towards the enine nozzles) has been modified (Or is it that the engine nozzles are larger?)! Either way, the rear section of the aircraft now looks a bit more slender than before, having a smoother transition to the nozzles.

They look the same to me.
