Arrh! The gifs are too fast and gives me motion sickness looking at them. Any chance they could be slowed down to a non-nausea-inducing speed?

i agree, it's uncomfortable to stare at those gifs, trying to figure out what's the plane is doing

there is not enough pictures to make a smooth sequence, but they just go and make them into one, seems like mainland people have a certain love for gifs

If J-20 really turn that tight, its crazy...

as i said, don't really on gifs (or shaky cam video), the J-20 might have had travelled hundreds of meters in those gifs, there is simply no time or distance reference in such pics

Is the J-20 in #1 and 4 of those Gif pics doing Cobra? Maybe not, but just wondering...

cobra does not include a loop, if there's a loop it won't be called a cobra :p
if you are interested in cobra maneuver, look at some Flanker videos, warning though you might fell in love with them while they're at it ;)

Yep, absolutely. That's what I was suspecting. I thought the Cobra only flips ~120 deg., but wasn't 100% sure. I think it was the Su-37 that first did the complete 360... So if the J-20 can do the complete 360, does that mean it has the maneuverability of a Su-37? That would be cool since it is considered one of the most maneuverable fighters in the world. And it was a big deal when Su-37 first did it, I think.

there are many 'firsts' brought by the Flanker series, for once the word supermaneuverability was dedicated to them, and up to now it continues to wow and surprise people with new moves

regarding J-20, we just need a good video

Isn't it the norm European and American aerospace companies also hire foreign talents? What makes it so different if China does the same. In fact, for various reasons, western companies do have easier access to a bigger pool of talent, comparatively to China.
Well I suspect, at least back in the '90s, these Russian experts could have gotten more money in the US. A whole lot of Russian scientists ended up in the US and elsewhere, and they are often near tops in their fields. For these aerospace engineers, I think the US might have offered them good money just to keep them away from China.

Maybe the significance, in this case, is that these Russian experts preferred using their skills to contribute to China's development, seeing it as a "friendlier" alternative, politically and strategically. This is why I would agree with GreenestGDP that their contribution should be applauded.

But yes, A.Man, OF COURSE its "made in China"! It doesn't look at all like any Russian product I've seen.

I think you are referring to a kulbit by the 360 degree flip. It involves the cobra maneuver but is very different. The J-20 was just executing a loop and I don't think the loop was tight enough to be considered a kulbit.

Comment on Russian engineers working in China:

Many of them could probably be considered Chinese now since they've applied for Chinese citizenship and even had children in China.

Apparently this is the J-20 video with the FC-1. It's in the end but fog basically covers the take off.

The only good action is the pre-flight check. A lot of parts moving.
