I think simply the best would be to sit back, take a cup of tea and wait, wait and - at least I wil do so - listen amused to all these comments from so called Asia, Military, China or whatever specialists and analysts while they discuss.

Time will tell what type of fighter will be fielded earlier & in larger numbers ...

Deino :)

I say it will be, but anyways, I really do want to see a crazy sterioded J-20, and I hope that will be what's going into service.

Chinese military enthusiasts dread drinking tea. Maybe coffee would suit them better.

Why's that D:
I prefer tea myself.

Is it just me who thinks that pic is a cg? The lighting, sky, and general quality of the photo seems too good to be true.

Believe or not J-10 program flew alot of the test points in Chengdu.

CFTE is the big center. and where the big items are flight tested.

no, there is no conspiracy theory here.

Do you think PLAAF is short of option at this moment? I know CFTE is a big center. Definitely they have better option or backup test center to conduct other more secrecy equipment and test.

i think that pic is real because the angle and the vortices shown coincide with some pics we've seen earlier

probably just some touchups with the colour

This dead horse is being whipped again over at keypub, and a bit encouraged due to the dod report mentioning j20... I mean honestly...

I just don't understand their logic. If the J-20 couldn't exceed all of T-50's or F-22's maneuverability parameters then it is automatically a striker or interceptor. What about 4th generation planes that are less maneuverable than the two? Automatically strikers and MIG-25s as well?

One potential counter argument to the interceptor hypothesis.

If you look up pictures of interceptor aircrafts you will notice one interesting trait. They all have huge vertical stabilisors to maintain stability during very high velocity flights. If China was willing to trade maneuverability for weight then the obvious choice would be implementing larger vertical stabilizors instead of risking all moving ones.
